Job Purpose

Senior Engineer, Structural Analysis (SACS)

Role is created to develop the disciplines of engineering required to tender and execute the growth business segment of Subsea Production Systems. This role is to be based in Hyderabad and support Subsea production systems project for Hyderabad executed projects & other global offices within TFMC.

The role requires to perform structural analysis of subsea production system products and design for subsea equipment. Provides technical leadership and guidance on Structural design and analysis. Drives innovative solutions to optimize subsea structure designs.

Job Description

  • BE or MTech in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience with background analyzing offshore or subsea structures in the oil & gas industry. Experience specific to subsea system structures is preferred.
  • Must be familiar with the use of structural analysis programs such as SACS, STAAD PRO,
  • Expert knowledge of international offshore standards and structural design codes, such as API RP 2A, AISC, ISO 19902, Eurocode 3, DNV and NORSOK.
  • Proficient in foundation analysis/ design for subsea structures & skids (Mudmat / Pile / Suction Pile foundations)
  • Experience in Welding strength & Bolt checks verification - Hand calculations
  • General and some specialized knowledge of Structural design techniques and analysis methods
  • Knowledge in Linear & Non-linear buckling analysis for structures.
  • Analysis of Subsea modules and foundations for Pre-service and In-Service conditions
  • Capable to lead sub area of small to medium size projects or areas within larger projects.
  • Responsible for carrying out all necessary facilities engineering design functions required for concept development, FEED, and detail engineering of structures related to Subsea  production development.
  • Preparation & review of other structural documents like Structural design basis, Weight control report, lifting analysis, Framing plans, transportation analysis, layouts etc.
  • Practical site fabrication and/or offshore structure installation experience is required.  Candidate must be familiar with the fabrication process and be able to work with others to validate the constructability of proposed designs.
  • Assist in close-out of Third Party Review action points
  • Provide technical assistance on site during fabrication, hook-up, commissioning and start-up as required
  • Sound understanding of Engineering practices, design methods & calculations.
  • Document / Specification / Part creation in Teamcenter ( Training will be provided )
  • To review the Structural project scope and the Project Execution Plan (where issued) and to develop the associated Cost Time Resources (CTR's) for the project and to plan the necessary resources, tools and staff to execute the work in a logical and timely fashion
  • Knowledge in CAD system (e.g. Inventor, Pro/E, Unigraphics etc.)
  • Must have the drive and initiative to independently communicate, negotiate, gather information and make sound engineering decisions.
  • Ability to read, interpret & prepare applicable technical information & suggest design or process changes to ensure functional and cost-effective results
  • Able to work independently and interface with multiple stakeholders in a fast paced project environment.
  • Good understanding of economic factors (cost, margin, profit, impact of decisions).
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated organization and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. Strong in both verbal and written technical communication.
  • Good PC skills (word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software).

  • Accomplish work under the supervision of Lead Engineer or Group Leader.
  • Frequent contact and interface with internal organization (Engineers, Drafters, Quality, Project Managers, Site Fabrication team).
  • Some contact with external customers.

  • Spends 90% of time sitting and operating a computer or workstation.  Spends 10% of time supporting site fabrication activities requiring lifting, pushing, walking and some climbing on ground and elevated heights.
