Job Purpose

Technical Administration – ERPs (formerly known as ERP Basis) is responsible for management of the SAP ERPs environment (ECC, S4 and other systems part of the ecosystem), meaning optimal performance and uptime of business-critical ERP systems and databases across the global organization.

The role sets-up, administers and supports production and non-production environments.

As part of the Technical Administration – ERPs Team, provides the overall direction, guidance, definition, and facilitation for the development of all required ERP landscapes.

This role is being the main ERP architect for Basis, for continuous update and improvement of existing implementations as well as for future solutions.

The role works closely with Senior Manager Foundational Services, for strategic long term- and short-term maintenance planning of the ERP environment

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Some of the main accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development of the SAP Basis technical landscape and technical roadmap
  • Lead the planning and manage the implementation of patches and upgrades of the SAP global components
  • Participate and execute together with SAP managed service partner and the ERP Operations and Delivery Teams.
  • Further develop and manage the monitoring tools for the global systems
  • Coordinate activities with SAP and other partners/vendors.
  • Plan, coordinate and drive SAP System Landscape refreshes and single system refreshes, in conjunction with third party AMS provider.
  • Keep the technical documentation updated for system copy / refresh and SAP Basis Standard changes in the TechnipFMC ITIL / Change process.
  • Assist auditors in performing SOX audits in SAP systems. Point-of-contact for technical questions from auditors to the Basis Team related to SOX Audits and responsible for performing required tasks related to audits.
  • Plan and manage implementation projects of patches and upgrades together with internal Basis team and third-party AMS provider and the SAP ERP team.
  • Work with the SAP ERP Release Team, Architecture Team and Integrations Team to provide input to the SAP Release Calendar
  • Plan and coordinate basis activities with the Senior Manager Foundational Services, and the SAP outsourcing partner

Additional Description

  • Responsible for keeping the technical documentation for the global systems updated
  • Develop the extended use of SAP Solution Manager / SAP Cloud ALM for better centralized application monitoring of the global applications. Lead implementation of recommendations from EWA reports
  • Lead implementation of Sap Security Notes, Hot News and related recommendations
  • Implement Sap Basis related applications changes.
  • Solve issues /tickets passed on by ERP Operations and Delivery Teams and report back progress and solutions.
  • Provide SAP Basis Technical Expertise towards ERP Delivery Teams during implementation and rollout projects
  • Further develop and manage the processing of SAP scheduled background jobs.
  • Monitor and improve the day-to-day operations of the SAP Environments according to defined standards.

  • Mentor other Technical Administration – ERPs teams members, especially the Sr Application Analyst – SAP Basis

REQUIREMENTS: 

The assignment is a full-time position with the following requirements:

 

  • Master Computer science degree with minimum 8 years’ experience
  • Bachelor Computer science degree with minimum 13 years’ experience
  • Strong experience in SAP system architecture, installation and administration.
  • Language: English, verbal and writing
  • Grounded in leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Experienced in information system life cycle methodologies
  • Basic project management skills
  • Meets industry and technical certification or accreditation requirements or equivalent – (example: SAP certification or by practical / technical experiences)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills to analyze business requirements and translate them into system-supported solutions.
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities at one time and be very results oriented.
  • Must work well both independently and in a team environment. Must be a self-starter.

Domain Specific Requirements

  • Experience with database administration of Hana, Oracle, MS SQL and MaxDB.
  • Application / system experience with SAP, Linux and Windows Server.
  • Experience interfacing with SAP Cloud applications.
  • Strong technical skills related to SAP and the underlying technical infrastructure.
  • Understanding of the interlocked structure between the various streams and modules of SAP (and interfaced applications) and SAP architecture and infrastructure.
  • Managed and executed IT implementation / rollout projects, including experience with at least one full life cycle SAP implementation project
  • Strong knowledge in information system development life cycle methodologies, software testing and change control processes
  • Experience working with a 3rd party AMS provider.
  • Certifications: SAP Technical administration, SAP Database administration
