Job Purpose

Provides engineering solutions as part of a SSE project taskforce, in accordance with TechnipFMC standards, procedures, processes, schedules, and budget: This is structural engineer role and is based in Hyderabad. The role requires to design of subsea / offshore structures and perform FEA analysis for the same. Engineer creates, reviews, and analyzes designs to ensure compliance to technical specifications, functionality, and constructability.

Job Description

  • Review and interpret customer technical specifications and industry codes (DNV / ASME BPV Sec VIII / API RP 2A)
  • Create technical documents (functional design specifications, project design basis, analysis reports etc.) for existing or new technology or applications.
  • Reviewer ownership in TCE (PLM tools) for technical documents and drawing packages released as deliverables
  • Preparation of Weight control report, Material take off & Planning BOM (Bill of material)
  • Use sound engineering judgment, classical hand calculations and analysis programs (FEA) to analyze designs and generate new designs.
  • Possess good understanding on engineering fundamentals with respect to structural design.
  • Understanding on Material selection philosophy
  • Independently develops solutions to problems by analyzing, interpreting and evaluating data. 
  • Design verifications using Mathcad/MATLAB tools
  • Responsible for quality and on-time-delivery of assigned tasks
  • Coordinates engineering activities on tenders and project execution

You are meant for this job if:

  • BE or MTech in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong technical basis in engineering
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant industry experience with background in design / analyzing subsea/surface (Offshore) equipment preferred.
  • Ansys / Abaqus tool knowledge
  • Knowledge of industry specific design codes like ASME, API, DNV, NORSK and ISO
  • Knowledge on pressure containment equipment design (Pressure Vessel design)
  • Must be able to verify and substantiate FEA results with classical hand calculation methods.
  • Proficient in Non-Linear analysis
  • Proficient in Static Structural analysis
  • Experience with welded and bolted structure design
  • Should be able to conduct technical design reviews and review of work packages to be delivered
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
