Job Purpose

As Tax Paraprofessional, you will play a key role in supporting a team of tax professionals and assist with administrative and paraprofessional support. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded performer with strong communication, organization, and analytical abilities. You should be an independent, solution-oriented performer who is skilled and experienced in a supporting a tax or accounting function.

The Tax Paraprofessional is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and preparing tax data to ensure accurate and timely completion of returns and reports. This position also performs administrative duties that support the tax department processes and procedures.

Job Description

  • Tax and Accounting Support: Assists with reports, presentations, budgets, and various accounting transactions, including tax data preparation and filing.
  • Software Administration: Manages transfer pricing software and prepares intercompany agreements, ensuring proper execution and document retention.
  • Tax Filings and Compliance: Prepares routine tax filings, collects exemption certificates, and maintains federal and state POA authorizations.
  • Communication and Coordination: Supports VP and Directors with executive communications, meeting schedules, and travel itineraries.
  • Office Management: Ensures efficient operation of the tax department, including maintaining databases, organizing office logistics, and onboarding staff.
  • Tax Notice Management: Reviews and manages tax notices, resolving issues with authorities and preparing necessary responses.

You are meant for this job if:

You have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent (required). Associate or bachelor degree preferred.

You have a minimum of two years of tax or accounting department support experience. 

You are accustomed to working in a deadline-driven environment and excel at handling multiple projects/tasks with close attention to detail.

You effectively prioritize work assignments based on internal and/or external deadlines.

You successfully multi-task while working independently or in coordination with other professionals.

You have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse personalities in a tactful and mature manner.

You understand and maintain the confidentiality of all information.
