Job Purpose

The Income Tax Manager is responsible for managing the US federal income tax compliance functions, including filings, audits, account analysis, and research. The individual will gather information, provide support, use strong analytical skills to perform technical analysis of large volumes of data, moderately complex reporting and compliance. This will require coordination with external consultants and internal stakeholders to drive results. The position works closely with accounting, finance, Treasury and legal teams on tax related projects.

Job Description

  • Manage team in the timely completion, filing and payment of U.S. federal compliance filings.  Requires proficiency with forms 1120, 5471, 5472, 8858 and 1118
  • Support complex tax calculations including foreign tax credit, subpart F inclusions, GILTI inclusions, FDII
  • Review complex tax calculations like equity compensation, officer compensation, lease accounting, purchase price adjustment, UNICAP, FX, Funded Assets and R&D
  • Review of the quarterly income tax provision including supporting the financial close process and performing account reconciliations
  • Oversight of US quarterly tax controls
  • Support of US state income tax compliance and planning
  • Support of withholding tax processes including filings such as Forms 1042, 1120F, W-9 and W-8
  • Oversight of credit, incentives and accounting method related tax planning
  • Monitoring of Section 382 ownership changes
  • Monitor CAMT positions and filing requirements
  • Calculation and maintenance of US E&P, stock basis and distribution planning
  • Close coordination with lease accounting and purchase price accounting teams to ensure accurate tax reporting and maintenance.
  • Manage income tax audits, including requests for data, preparation of schedules, gathering work papers and other supporting documentation.
  • Oversee the handling of correspondence from taxing authorities and ensure responses are timely and accurate.
  • Research and stay current of changes to tax laws and other compliance related requirements.
  • Research and resolve income tax related issues and inquires and provide timely Reponses.
  • Coordinate tax requirements for acquisitions, divestitures and other North American strategic tax plans
  • Support US commercial tendering with tax guidance
  • Support ongoing process improvements and automation opportunities

You are meant for this job if:

  • Accounting Degree (CPA, Masters in Tax or Accounting strongly preferred)
  • Minimum 8+ years corporate tax experience; mix of public accounting and industry experience is preferred
  • Experience with tax audits
  • Broad exposure to federal, international, and state income tax compliance and research
  • Experienced tax software user (Corptax or similar)
  • Knowledge of tax research databases such as CCH, RIA or TTR
  • Strong research and technical writing skills
  • Strong organizational and written/oral communication skills
  • Strong reconciliation, data manipulation, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Able to work independently with good communication skills
  • Proficient use of Oracle ERP, SAP S/4HANA, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Power Apps
