Job Purpose

Reporting to the Vice President of Tax, the Director Global Tax Accounting is responsible for leading the global tax provision team in preparing all quarterly and annual income tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures. Reporting is performed in both US GAAP and IFRS.

Job Description

  • Manage US GAAP and IFRS global income tax provision and financial reporting process with a rigorous focus on accuracy and timeliness. Lead Effective Tax Rate forecasting, and manage quarterly and annual close processes.
  • Focus on continuous process improvement for tax accounting, including enhancements to tax provision processes and the supporting systems to drive simplification and standardization of processes.
  • Lead the team responsible for managing the global effective tax rate and collaborate with global partners on managing the rate, create visibility and understanding of the drivers in the tax rate, and highlight opportunities and assist in the setting of global priorities to reduce taxes.
  • Coordinate with members of the global tax team to forecast and track cash income taxes and develop strategies for cash tax reductions.
  • Develop analytical processes for long-term effective communication to senior management on matters impacting the actual and forecasted Effective Tax Rate.
  • Lead SOX 404 assessment and documentation efforts from a tax standpoint.
  • Coordinate and review global deferred tax asset and liability calculations, including tax basis balance sheets.
  • Prepare and review tax footnotes, and all other tax related disclosures for SEC and IFRS filings.
  • Direct US GAAP research concerning tax accounting matters and provide tax accounting support on ad hoc business and tax planning initiatives.
  • Lead global tax accounting function operational excellence through continued development of tax policies and procedures.
  • Manage responses to external and internal audit teams to support financial statement compliance, tax settlement and tax audits.
  • Effectively lead and collaborate with tax leaders across the globe.
  • Identify opportunities to better leverage technology and automation tools to streamline and optimize tax accounting processes and enhance data accuracy.
  • Train, develop and enhance the technical and personal skills of members of the tax accounting team.
  • Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  Should be organized and work in a detailed manner, while fostering a collaborative, team environment.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Accounting Degree (Masters in Tax or Accounting strongly preferred).
  • CPA designation required.
  • Prior experience must include at least 15 years corporate tax experience with a minimum of 10 years focused on tax accounting.
  • Extensive and deep knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting rules as well as SOX 404.
  • Strong technical ASC 740 background and skill set.
  • Highly disciplined with the ability to work under strict deadlines.
  • Ability to leverage prior experience to identify issues, actively engage in solution management, and interface with a variety of tax and non-tax professionals.
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong trouble-shooting skills.
  • Strong management presence with excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
  • Highly accountable with an innovative and collaborative management style
