Job Purpose

This position is a solid independent contributor able to complete more complex work without direct supervision. An Interventions Engineer is a critical component to ensuring proper planning and execution of post manufacturing services to our customers. A successful candidate will be eager to split time between the office, shop and the field, and enjoy working hands-on during assembly, pressure testing and equipment installation alongside technicians while in the shop or field. An Intervention Engineer’s primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing operational input to product design and development, technical planning for shop and/or field support work to ensure job readiness, creation of technical documentation and procedures, execution of onshore and offshore field support, completion of project closeout reviews and documentation, direct customer interface, product and system troubleshooting.


 

Job Description

 

  • Effective collaboration across organization with project managers, planners, workshop engineers and quality engineers.
  • Works independently on more varied and complex tasks, shows ability to provide leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of shop/lab assembly, or field installation or testing.
  • During normal field operations, perform hands-on assembly and pressure testing functions in the field alongside service technicians. Provide technical support and troubleshooting direction as needed.
  • Provide technical input to RCAs and resolution of field non-conformances.
  • Provide technical support and leadership for onshore personnel including operations coordinators, workshop manager and quality department and unplanned technical support and leadership for onshore/offshore activities.
  • Assist in development of specialty equipment needed to support customer operations related to Services engineering.
  • Provide interface resolution between TFMC and non-TFMC equipment.
  • Host Technical Readiness Reviews (TRR) prior to on or off-site execution of work.
  • Review/approves technical documentation related to engineering changes: ECN (Engineering Change Notices), Part Reports, engineering specifications/requirements and ensures conformance to all policies and procedures related to engineering deliverables.
  • Review/approves engineering designs and documents, including: assembly and testing procedures, system integration test procedures, installation and well commissioning procedures, preservation, storage and maintenance procedures, rig books, layout drawings, schematics, and service orders.
  • Provide status reports on assigned projects that include project status, milestones achieved, OTD and critical project issues.

You are meant for this job if:

  • BS degree in Engineering required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in the O&G interventions industry, field experience is preferred.
  • Interest and ability to perform hands-on labor in a field environment during operational execution.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Recognize the impact of variances to scope, cost and schedule.
  • Effective understanding and communication within diverse cultural environments.
  • Ability to present ideas, concepts, data and facts in a clear and concise manner and the ability to persuade and influence others as needed.
  • Embody a customer-oriented attitude and the ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Must be able to obtain Credentials and requirements for offshore work such as but not limited to: (TWIC), DOT physical, T-HUET/BOSIET , level 3 well control training

 

Work environment:  Spend 50-75% time in an office environment and/or 25-50% in onshore/offshore field environment. A typical average of 100 days per year in the field can be expected, but this will vary depending on many factors including very fluid operator schedules.  May be exposed to possible hazards including noise, outdoor temperature extremes, chemicals, pressure testing, heavy lift operations and shop/field traffic.
