Job Description

Provide expertise in engineering application development to solve engineering problems and automate processes

Architect engineering applications using input from stakeholders, prior experience, and team collaboration

Develop and support engineering applications

Interact with application users and managers to provide guidance on application development and solutions

Provide input to other team members for application / process development

Job Purpose

Under general direction, use and apply principals, theories, concepts and techniques to complete activities and projects of a large and complex scale.

Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining effective solutions.

Provide direction and leadership in regard to system architecture and process execution

Large project work – function as a project team leader on a regular basis

Transfer knowledge and skills to less developed team members

Mentor other team members

Apply programming skills to develop solutions with other team members

Produce work, apply experience, provide expertise, mentor, implement, assist, analyze and share information

Research, identify and resolve problems and manage change within the established environment

Qualifications

BS degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent with 5 years of experience in the field as a minimum

Preferable to have extensive experience working in an  engineering environment supporting processes and systems

Using the following languages / applications regularly:

  • Awk - mastery
  • Cgi
  • javascript
  • C/C++
  • Batch/cmd on windows
  • Shell scripting (bash or ksh) on linux
  • Perl
  • apache
  • XML
  • HTML
  • 2+ years experience integrating solutions across multiple  platforms using multiple languages
  • 2+ years experience with integration and configuration of browsers, Apache web server configuration
  • Ability to adapt to using new languages and processes

Project management skills

Skillful communicator and negotiator

Planning, organizational and problem-solving skills

Understanding business challenges and what drives customer values

Excellent command of English
