Job Title: Senior Controls Installation Engineer

Duties:
Responsibilities include: Ensure timely delivery of project milestones; Review engineering designs and documentation; Provide onshore/offshore support for control systems, including troubleshooting and performance testing; Act as a technical liaison with customers, translating requirements into system designs and maintaining strong relationships; Prepare and review technical documents, rig books, field installation and system integration procedures; Contribute to improving internal processes, training, and documentation standards; Ensure adherence to safety, operational policies, and contract requirements; Support installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of equipment in the field; Interface with operations, engineering, quality, vendors, and global teams; Research and resolve field non-conformances and corrective actions; Conduct readiness and after-action reviews for field operations; Occasionally provides external technical advice or participates in speaking engagements. Position requires domestic travel to customer offices located in Houston, TX 5% of the time to conduct meetings and remote troubleshooting sessions with offshore platforms. Position requires offshore travel to client field locations, platforms, rigs, vessels, and dock sites located in the Gulf of America 40% of the time to execute equipment field testing, well completion, well commissioning, and operations support for controls of subsea production systems.
Rquirements
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Controls Installation Engineer-related occupation.
Position requires experience in the following:
1. Experience in the field supporting topsides and controls equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. This equipment includes but is not limited to: Subsea Communication Modules (SCMs), Subsea Power and Communication Units (SPCUs and SPCTUs), Electrical Power Unit (EPUs), Master Control Station (MCS), Electronic Test Unit (ETU).
2. Experience with Subsea Systems (Controls and Automation Systems): Foundational in at least 2 subsea systems and Operational in at least 2 subsea systems.
3. Experience estimating and managing engineering hours and budgets, impact of customer, design specifications, and contract variations on cost/schedule.
4. Experience diagnosing and resolving network issues, including connectivity problems, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities as well as using network monitoring tools and techniques to identify and address network anomalies and ensure continuous network availability.
5. Experience in technical troubleshooting, including equipment installation, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and ensuring efficient and effective problem resolution.
6. Experience in software installation, deployment, and testing.
7. Experience in identifying non-conformances and HSE risks and implementing corrective actions through Service Notifications and Root Cause Analysis.
