Job Purpose
This position is an intermediate level position able to apply basic skills with increasing independence. Individuals in the role assemble and test complex mechanical assemblies, often to close tolerances.
- Works under minimal supervision and may adapt procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs. Resolves all but most complex problems and questions independently.
- Contacts with other person in department for routine matters or to provide assistance. Occasional contact with other departments to furnish or obtain information. Direct interface with Customer Representative.
- May assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of less experienced employees.
Job Description
- Assembles and tests mechanical assemblies according to TFMC specifications. Applies advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment in area of expertise.
- Assists during assembly of components in areas of expertise. Teaches other assemblers proper techniques and procedures for mastered key sub-assemblies.
- Completes required test documentation including test reports, failed test reports and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR). Assists with Factory Acceptance Tests, NDE, Factory Final Inspection if needed.
- Assists in preparing, maintaining work stations and test equipment for factory and system acceptance testing.
- Resolves most questions and problems in mastered sub-assemblies. Refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.
- Cleans components after assembly/disassembly according to TFMC specifications and verbal/written instructions.
- Uses material handling equipment to move parts, components and subassemblies from one work or storage area to another as required.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area. Practices good housekeeping in work area.
- May assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of less experienced assemblers.
- Inputs daily hand over and look ahead for planning purposes
- Maintains received inventoried parts list and parts removed from Reassembly
- Documents issues in MES and communicate to related teams.
- Maintains multiply Production Orders and sign offs required.
You are meant for this job if:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Generally, 5+ years of experience in oil and gas industry.
- English Communication skills
- Ability to comprehend all engineering and weld blueprints and all written engineering procedures. Knowledge of components and circuits and their interfaces at a sub-assembly level. Ability to read and interpret schematics and Bills of Material (BOM).
- Ability to use computer and/or workstation.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- English language required- written and communication skills.
- Ability to operate high and low pressure Pumps, Hydrostatic Pumps, High Torque Wrenches, Overhead Cranes, Jib Cranes, Forklifts, and Rigging. Ability to use hand tools, power tools and measuring devices such as height gauges, adjustable parallels, calipers and pressure gauges.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Shop indoor and outdoor environment. Works in confined workspaces. High noise level. Works with high-pressure equipment and chemicals. Inclement weather conditions.
