Job Purpose

This position is an intermediate level position in which the Quality Engineer is expected to be able to complete work with increasing independence. A Project Quality Engineer in Subsea Projects Quality North America is a critical player in ensuring proper planning and execution a Subsea project to our customers. 

Job Description

  • Supports the establishment of customer quality requirements during the tender phase. 
  • Leads the development and approval of Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans. 
  • Reviews the accuracy and availability of all Quality related documentation. 
  • Provides Quality support / guidance to project / site team throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Leads Project audits / reviews and is responsible for follow-up. 
  • Proactively identifies problems and drives solutions through implementation and sustainment. 
  • Verifies the effectiveness of existing and newly implemented systems for improvement or compliance. 
  • Participates actively in the risk assessment workshops on the project. 
  • Promotes a Quality culture on the project/ site, ensuring implementation of best practices and continuous improvement of quality standards and systems. 
  • Collaborates with Suppliers and Supplier Quality to ensure project requirements are met. 
  • Leads and facilitates RCA/CARs to ensure completeness and adequacy of controls. 
  • Monitors, reports, analyses KPIs to ensure compliance, performance visibility, and actions for improvement. 
  • Compiles and analyzes complex quality data, identifies trends / causes and proposes corrective actions. 
  • Implements an effective corrective and preventive action system and tracks closure of NCRs. 
  • Resolves operational issues related to customer third party representatives. 
  • Configures and updates the QMS (Quality Management System) and contributes to its continuous improvement. 
  • Reports progress and handles inquiries and issues with the Client quality representatives. 
  • Assists in the definition of project objectives and metrics (KPI), analyzes performance, proposes corrective actions.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor's degree preferably with a specialization in Quality (Engineering degree for Quality Engineer only, equivalent qualification for Quality Analyst)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality
  • Good understanding and knowledge of all main procedures and Management systems
  • Some project management skills
  • Presentation and some coaching skills
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Customer oriented
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Good command of English
  • Capable of producing standard quality documents
  • Knowledgeable in how changes influence project cost
  • Capable of leading internal meetings

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Office atmosphere with multiple priorities and constant change. Frequent engagement with internal and external contacts.  Periodic visits to manufacturing sites to perform audits. Some international travel may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Frequent meetings, sitting for long periods of time, operating a computer. Standing and walking for extended periods while observing workshop / manufacturing site activities.
