Job Purpose

Direct management of the North America Subsea Project Planning Department. Provides the team with leadership, supervision, and best practices. Interfaces with the Global Project Planning Network on standardization and improvement initiatives. Requires an understanding of subsea projects, both manufacturing and subsea installation scope. This candidate must be able to understand projects from a strategic perspective while strictly adhering to the foundational beliefs and core values of TechnipFMC. This position reports directly to the Director of Planning.

Job Description

  • Defines the department objectives and direction.
  • Manages the budget for the department.
  • May need to provide buffer for project planning support or tendering as needed.
  • Responsible for North America P6 database, codes and user administration.
  • Develops and implements Planning and Scheduling standards and procedures, ensuring that they are in line with the recognized best practices.
  • Contributes towards, maintaining and implementing corporate QA & HSES Management System objectives and procedures.
  • Anticipates the workload of the department, identifies the resources needed and manages recruiting.
  • Responsible for team engagement, check-ins and creating performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Strong understanding of progress measurement application and tools.
  • Develops and supports internal planning dashboards.
  • Strong understanding of work breakdown structure (WBS) and its application.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, procurement, operations or a technical degree in a related field.
  • Relevant job experience can substitute the required degree and a technical background is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Project execution is desired.   
  • 5 to 7 years working in Subsea Oil and Gas industry preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment using effective communication.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and decision making.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Must have strong computer skills and strong skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • This position requires extensive project planning software knowledge of Microsoft Project and/or Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Must have a strategic understanding of Project Planning and MRP.
