Job Purpose

Responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient availability of materials to support production and customer demand. This role leverages SAP to manage material requirements planning (MRP), optimize inventory levels, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive supply chain excellence.

Job Description

  • Master Data / Data Management - Create and maintain accurate material master data and Bill of Materials (BOMs) in SAP to support effective planning, procurement, and inventory control processes.
  • Demand Creation - Collaborate with commercial and project teams to translate forecasts and requirements into system-driven demand signals.
  • Demand Management - Monitor and adjust demand plans in SAP to reflect changes in customer needs, production schedules, and market dynamics.
  • Shortage Reporting / MRP Analysis - Analyze MRP outputs to identify material shortages, generate exception reports, and coordinate resolution with procurement and suppliers.
  • Inventory Management - Monitor and manage inventory levels, inclusive of offsite locations and stocking programs, in SAP to minimize excess and obsolete stock while maintaining service levels. Conduct root cause analysis, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and implement corrective actions to optimize inventory turnover and support working capital goals.
  • ECN Analysis - Utilize ZIMPACT tools to assess engineering change notifications (ECNs) against material availability risks and their impact on production and delivery schedules.
  • Logistics Support - Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely material movements, receipts, and inventory accuracy.
  • Cross-Functional Support - Partner with procurement, production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve material issues and support end-to-end supply chain performance.

 

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, with a good understanding of system inputs, outputs, and planning functionalities; SAP experience preferred. 
  • Beginner knowledge of procurement, inventory control, and manufacturing processes, including machining and fabrication (preferred). 
  • Ability to interpret and manage manufacturing routings, bills of materials (BOMs), and supply/demand data related to sales and production orders (preferred). 
  • Familiarity with analyzing shortage reports and identifying critical path issues impacting on-time delivery. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
