Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to manage the full project life cycle of large, complex projects as assigned. This position reports to the Finance Manager of Subsea Projects in Houston, TX

Job Description

  • Define administrative and finance structure of projects, as assigned, up to $1.5B USD
  • Accountable to manage multiple complex projects at any given time
  • Supervise the contractual financial terms of the project during execution
  • Coordinate project financial management during project execution
  • Provide forecasts (revenue/gross margin), collaborating closely with providers if needed
  • Ownership of the EAC (estimate at completion) review and maintenance for accurate reporting
  • Monitor and verify accurate postings to responsible projects
  • Monitor and verify accurate revenue recognition
  • Maintain project financial health during life of project
  • Communicate with auditors, both internal and external
  • Monitor project invoicing and collections
  • Participate in month-end, and quarter-end closing
  • Completion of quarterly financial deliverables
  • Completion of ad-hoc deliverables as needed

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration; or equivalent years of work experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Finance or Project Controlling within an ERP system with projects greater than $500k USD
  • Working knowledge of Percentage of Completion (POC) revenue recognition principles
  • Working knowledge of Accounting and Financial principles and concepts, including US GAAP and IFRS
  • Working knowledge of revenue recognition standards (ASC 606)
  • Experience in SAP or similar ERP system
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to solve complex and non-recurring problems independently
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Meticulous
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Disciplined with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and contributing to team performance
  • Advanced PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Contribution to improvement initiatives
