We're looking to bring on a Project Controls Specialist to join the Project Controls team. This person will be responsible for effectively and proactively performing Project Controls functions related to financial and cost forecasting analysis, risk and/or schedule, and will assist in the preparation of Project Controls activities to support the project or assignment. This position reports directly to the Project Controls Department Manager and indirectly to the Project Controls Manager. Overall responsibility includes ensuring compliance of assigned projects with project controls and services standards—both from applicable contract documents and from project controls policies/guidelines.
Job Description
- Perform effective and proactive Project Controls functions related to financial and cost forecasting analysis, risk, and schedule.
- Review the project contract and ensure that all contract conditions (invoicing, reporting, change management, etc.) are applied throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Collaborate with other functions (Finance, Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, REMS) to support informed decision-making.
- Implement Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures, collect performance data, analyze earned value, and track project progress.
- Develop and maintain project schedules aligned with execution strategies.
- Prepare and distribute Project Controls reports, including budget tracking, cost forecasts, and risk assessments.
- Support internal and external meetings by providing analysis and documentation.
- Assist in project baseline setup and contract compliance.
- Monitor project performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain the project risk register.
You are meant for this job if:
- Degree in a related field or applicable work experience
- Minimum of three years of experience in project controls or project management, preferably in EPC
- 3–5 years of Project Controls experience in cost, schedule, and/or risk
- Practical experience using automated cost or schedule management systems
- Experience in project control roles across various projects
- Entry to intermediate proficiency in Primavera P6 and SAP
- Applied knowledge of "Earned Value" principles
- Familiarity with Project Management and Project Controls concepts, including PMBOK
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, project team members, clients, and vendors
