Job Purpose

This position is a beginning to intermediate level Materials Engineer able to apply Materials Science disciplines to TechnipFMC products. The Materials/Corrosion Science Engineer is a critical component to ensuring proper materials selection for our customer and industry standards requirements. The Materials Engineer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: Global Material Specifications and reports, Supply chain and Supplier application of special processes such as Forging, Heat Treatment, Non-Destructive Examination and Corrosion, equipment and project support, customer interface, product design review and validation, product maintenance, repair, and refurbishment.

Job Description

  • Supports manufacturing of TechnipFMC components through a Materials Engineering perspective at both local and global facilities.
  • Creates and prepares Materials specifications for global and product line use, aligning with industry standards, TechnipFMC, and customer documents.
  • Leads laboratory work for failure or metallurgical investigations and participates in field non-conformance resolutions, RCAs, and SN investigations.
  • Collaborates across departments to address equipment designs and questions, identifying root causes and proposing alternative solutions with risks and benefits.
  • Establishes work tasks independently and ensures on-time delivery for assigned project scopes, while building strong relationships with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Proposes and executes R&D projects aligned with TechnipFMC’s product development strategy, evaluating test results and implementing findings into company guidelines.
  • Conducts physical inspections and interacts with manufacturing equipment at both internal and supplier sites, ensuring thorough evaluations.
  • Demonstrates leadership by example, providing direction to technicians on project tasks despite not having direct reports.

You are meant for this job if:

  • BS in Materials Science or Metallurgical Engineering with 3 years' experience OR MS in Materials Science or Metallurgical Engineering with minimum 1 years' experience
  • Capable of doing Materials Engineering tasks
  • Capable of producing standard technical documents
  • Capable of solving technical issues with coaching
  • Knowledgeable in how changes influences Industrialization, Simplification and Standardization of product.
  • Capable of leading teamwork and stakeholders (internal and external)
