Job Purpose

Hiring IT and Digital Business Relationship Partner for the IDS departmet!  The role is responsible for understanding the business strategy, analyzing business processes, identifying demand, defining business cases, eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements. The role partners with other domains in IDS, Digital and external suppliers in the delivery of solutions. Identifies IT capabilities required to support the business processes and collaborates in the development of information management strategies, developing them as an integrated part of the business strategy.

We are considering candidates based in Houston (Primary location), Aberdeen or Dunfermline (UK), Rio de Janeiro and Stephenville, TX.

Job Description

  • Build strong network and relationships within the business functional teams and/or value streams, understand the business objectives and work to identify Minimal Viable Products to validate business hypothesis statements to ensure value is created.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure the successful implementation of the most valuable investments, recognizing that not all initiatives may proceed.
  • Identify opportunities to adopt existing technology or identify opportunities for new innovation that still align with larger strategic objectives by collaborating with the Enterprise Architecture team.
  • Develop a knowledge of the business units or value streams long-term goals and objectives while creating awareness within IDS of strategic business outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of IDS and BRM strategies that support business goals and objectives by collaborating with enterprise architecture.
  • Work closely with enterprise architecture to develop and maintain multi-year technology capability roadmaps to support the business plan and business capability development
  • Work closely with PMO to ensure a healthy and well-managed initiative portfolio and align to Lean Portfolio Management best practices.
  • Responsible for gathering cost base for initiatives and building high quality and reliable business cases leveraging Proof of Concepts and Minimum Viable Products to validate hypothesis statements.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure the adoption of initiatives, be actively involved in ensuring the value is measured and recorded, and identifying and measuring leading indicators for each initiative
  • Partner with the delivery teams to execute the investment portfolio, focus on business value instead of solutions.
  • Collaborate with other business partners and business relationship managers to identify cross functional opportunities and challenges
  • Constructively work within the wider IDS team to ensure business knowledge is cascaded to the delivery teams. Promote the value of IDS and engage positively to ensure appropriate recognition.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Recognized University Degree in IT or technology related subject or proven relevant experience
  • Self-motivated with a strong ability to rely on intuition and problem-solving skills to enhance the deliverables of the BRM department.
  • 5 to 7 years experience within IT / Software Services / Technology related discipline
  • Excellent awareness of IT market & technology changes. Ideally within the Energy industry.
  • Change management facilitation and ability to guide and influence acceptance of new processes and use of technology. This includes the people side of change to influence a sponsor coalition and employee managers
  • Ability to balance user, stakeholder and technical needs within budgets and demanding timelines
  • Business analytical skills (numerical, analytical and critical thinking skills)
  • Proficiency in articulating intricate issues in a clear and non-technical manner (written and verbal)
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a LEAN and Agile mindset
  • Ability to identify strategic initiatives and develop long-term roadmaps with the value streams and/or business domains
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is a prerequisite, encompassing listening, comprehension, reading, and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Efficient working practices and ability to produce deliverables on schedule
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager / Business Analysis would be beneficial but not essential
