• Oversees and manages country/Legal Entity General Ledger team members • Maintains accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements

Job Description

  • The Global Lead, SEC and Financial Reporting position serves a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of external financial information
  • This position will be in the Financial Reporting group reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager and works closely with the Investor Relations department to support the preparation of earnings releases, corporate presentations and other material presented to securities analysts, investors and industry groups. Additionally, this position will work closely to support technical accounting activities in the creation, maintenance, and interpretation of accounting policies.
  • Prepare analyses, schedules, and data for the Company's SEC filings and similar regulatory reports for UKAR (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, utilizing SEC filing software (Workiva).
  • Monitor and research new GAAP, SEC and IFRS pronouncements, perform assessments of their impact and assist in the implementation of new accounting pronouncements in the financial reporting process
  • Perform, research, and resolve activities involving complex accounting reports with associated accounting analysis and related internal controls
  • Interact and communicate with various other departments and business units to resolve financial related issues
  • Review disclosure checklists under generally accepted accounting principles in the United States (GAAP) and other applicable standards, such as MD&A
  • Review and ensure the completion of extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) for SEC filings utilizing Workiva
  • Assist in the review of Company's Proxy and other public presentations such as press releases and investor presentations
  • Coordinate audit requests with external and internal auditors

You are meant for this job if:

  • Education: Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting, business, or other related field 
  • Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Big 4 accounting related roles 
  • Technical/ Analytical Skills: Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC Reporting, and IFRS; Previous involvement preparing and/or reviewing SEC filings, including XBRL, or UK Annual Report is required; CPA required
  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work on cross-functional teams and present ideas effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Strategic Decision-Making: Strong financial/accounting reporting, business planning, project management, and creative thinking capabilities. Skilled in making strategic decisions amidst ambiguity and incomplete data.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Familiar with financial/accounting/MIS software packages/systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, FCC).
  • Professional Attributes: Willingness to work overtime as required during filing periods to meet deadlines; proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while delivering accurate results; capacity to work independently with general guidance; experience with large public companies.
