Job Purpose

TechnipFMC has the majority installed base of wells in the NAM market (GoM, Guyana, T&T, Canada) that produce through multiple subsea fields across our key customers.  Shell is of significance because they collectively represent ~25% of the NAM Subsea Service business. For this reason, coupled with clear market indication that Shell will focus their investment on growing their installed base (vs. installing new), the Field Advisor role has been created to protect and grow this revenue stream. The specific focus is on the customer value in the operating phase (post well commissioning), which is typically surveillance and monitoring, inspection, maintenance, repair, and well intervention activities across full scope of TechnipFMC infrastructure (SPS and SURF).

 

Job Description

The Field Advisor is an experienced and highly technical individual capable of balancing the needs of both TechnipFMC and our customer by relentlessly focusing on value while also building trust with senior operational P/L leaders within our customers using refined communication skills and self-awareness. The Field Advisor is the extension of our operational performance (and our internal P&L) into the customer.

  • To develop trust and credibility as an integral part of the customer’s Subsea Life of Field, Operations and/or Asset Management leadership teams. Preference to be physically co-located within these teams at the customer’s regional hub.
  • Provide SPS & subsea construction expertise in the customer’s Brownfield planning phases, agnostically or specific to TechnipFMC products as appropriate, to add value to customer’s subsea architecture decisions.
  • To learn how our customer’s define value in their management and operation of producing TechnipFMC infrastructure.
  • Translate customer defined value into clear proposals to ensure TechnipFMC operational, sparing and time to deployment, philosophies are consistent with desired outcomes.
  • To represent all TechnipFMC and adjust the scope of support as needed based on how the customer value evolves. This requires sufficient experience across a combination of technical, operational and/or commercial knowledge and established internal networks at TechnipFMC.
  • To proactively prioritize the customer’s needs so that the customer ultimately chooses to displace their third party and/or internal resources that are traditionally in place to manage TechnipFMC interfaces.
  • Use detailed understanding of customer installed base to monitor and proactively communicate obsolescence strategies to maintain operability.
  • To indirectly improve and grow TechnipFMC P/L results in the Life of Field segment through close interface with Customer Service teams and Services Commercial teams.

You are meant for this job if:

  • BA/BS Degree in related field or applicable discipline required
  • 7+ years overall experience
  • Required to desk at the customer’s operational hub part-time – specific schedule to be agreed with the customer, but one to two days a week expected, and/or through an established rotation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and planning skills.
  • Internally driven with limited need for oversight and demonstrated proficiency using independent judgement
  • Discrete and functional knowledge of portion of TechnipFMC products, services, and execution methodology
  • Must have advanced understanding of maintenance philosophies; thorough understanding of offshore execution; in depth knowledge of subsea products.
