Job Purpose

Leads a team of analysts to manage all business level financial report requirements, coordinate with regional finance teams to drive reporting and analysis and prepare value add analysis for management

Job Description

  • Defines reporting requirements and timetable for the business in conjunction with the Finance Director and to meet all corporate reporting requirements in compliance with financial standards, US GAAP and all internal control requirements per Corporate/Segment calendars
  • Manages the month/ quarter/ year end process including:
    • Prepares the monthly flash explaining actual vs forecast variances
    • Coordinates forecast process and prepares forecast explanations
    • Manages numbers submitted through Hyperion and conducts detailed reviews of financial results of each business and questions unexpected results or unusual trends
    • Prepares monthly financial review presentation file
  • Actively participates in Monthly Performance Reviews and budget reviews. Uses internal and external information and analytics to make recommendations to management.
  • Manage the forecasting and budgeting process for Surface Americas
    • Development of timetable and requirements including templates
    • Coordination of early view and budget reviews
    • Preparation of consolidated presentation for final presentation to GBU management
  • Drives process improvement using LEAN principles with the finance function including:
    • Initiate and support the deployment of new tools and new practices and procedures (forecasting system, business intelligence, financial databases, commercial models, etc.)
    • Actively participate in finance improvement teams
  • Develops proactive value added analytics using internal and external data to identify trends and opportunities such as cost opportunities, market/pricing anomalies, best practices, divergent trends, competitor analysis, overhead deep dives, etc.
  • Proves support to regions with budgeting, system deployment, audit preparation, new entity establishment or general analysis
  • Management of direct reports including hiring, supervision, coaching, mentoring and performance management

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Minimum of seven years experience
  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (esp. Excel)
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and ability to take complex issues and communicate them in simple terms
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve complex, non-recurring problems
  • Demonstrated leadership/supervisor ability and experience building relationships with operations/management
  • Strong communication skills to interact with all levels of management and peers of various backgrounds

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA/CPA (or equivalent)
  • SAP Experience
  • Oracle Hyperion Experience
  • Manufacturing operations/rental business/field operations Experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Spends 95% of time in a temperature-controlled environment (office, airport, airplane).
  • Spends up to 5% of time traveling to base locations and warehouse/assembly facility and may be exposed to possible hazards including high noise, heavy machinery and inclement weather.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent sitting and operating a computer and meeting with clients.
