Job Purpose

Manager, Derivatives and Technical Accounting will be responsible for supporting all aspects of derivatives reporting requirements. This role will support the financial close and reporting process, as well as other compliance reporting as required. This role will support the financial reporting team with strong memo writing skills. FTI reports under US GAAP as well as IFRS. All role responsibilities will have GAAP and IFRS implications.

Job Description

  • Manage GAAP technical accounting research and reporting requirements
  • Manage derivative accounting and prepare disclosures
  • Review GAAP based workpapers and research guidance as applicable
  • Assist with technical accounting research for both GAAP and IFRS
  • Provide updates to the Accounting Manual as necessary
  • Provide ad-hoc research, reporting and analysis
  • Manage, develop, and advance the expertise of direct reports and knowledge share within the Finance function

You are meant for this job if:

  • BS, BA or BBA Degree in Accounting of Finance
  • 8+ years relevant experience
  • 2 years people management and development experience
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP rules and regulations
  • Big 4 public accounting experience required
  • Ability to demonstrate effective management, organizational, and leadership skills in a dynamic business environment
  • Ability to work independently under general guidance
  • Demonstrates strong writing skills
  • Demonstrates exceptional planning, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • PC skills with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, project, and presentation software

 

WORK ENVIRONMENTSpends 90% of time in office/remote.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Frequent sitting and operating a computer.  Fast paced atmosphere with multiple priorities and constant change.  Some travel due to role.
