Job Title: Cost Engineer III
                                                                         
Job Location: 11720 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079

                                                        
Duties:
                                                             
Responsibilities include: Provide critical assessments of all budget and forecasts; Act as the lead for multiple projects with support of Junior Cost Controllers; Track and analyze project profit/value destruction and creation and assist with department initiatives; Analyze project schedule against cost progress to determine and escalate projects risk to project leadership; Provide tender to execution budget analysis and work breakdown structure recommendation to commercial team; Review project schedule to determine risks; Perform value of work done analysis; Collaborate with finance and project teams to provide required monthly reporting, review vessel spreads, people on board, fuel consumption reports for forecasting requirements; Perform cost savings assessments, gather data for client reporting, assist with Change orders/variation orders from original scope with either costing information; Evaluate foreign currency and mitigate exchange exposure; Locate cash opportunities; Provide life of project cost and billing forecasts; Adhere to audit requirements.

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Cost Engineer related occupation.

 

  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) analyzing Primavera 6 schedules and Earned Value Tools to assess execution performance impacts to project by integrating schedule, costs and scope to measure project performance.
  • Experience with Advanced Excel Functions, Data Tools and Forecasts such as Pivots, Charts/Graphs, Nesting Formulas, Goal Seek, What-if Analysis, and developing Macros.
  • Experience with Project Modeling and calendarizing costs to forecast Estimate at Completes (EACs) comparing previous project and client scopes which allows a cost percentage to be allocated throughout the life of project.
  • Experience with transforming commercial bid packages for Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) subsea projects to establish Budgets and Cost Baselines for Cost Management to align the project by creating WBS structures, mapping, transfer pricing, hedging foreign exchange pricing, and other analysis tools.
  • Experience with Business Compliance responding to audit requests and ensuring requirements are met for project reporting by adhering to Global Standards, Internal Controls, External Control testing.
  • Experience with Contract Analysis to assist with preparation of favorable Change Management pricing and assess exposures regarding Liquidated Damages, Termination Fees, Cancellation Curves, Unit Rates, and reporting.
  • Experience with Risk Management valorizing identified cost and schedule risks to perform scenario analysis of project gross margin and escalate mitigation planning for major threats.
