Job Purpose

Position is accountable for the effective execution of procurement activities for the full purchase-to-pay cycle for complex and strategic Purchase Orders within a high tempo environment of an operating Service Base. Implements Project procurement strategies and activities to mitigate risk and deliver to budget, schedule, quality, cost, compliance.  Duties include preparing and initiating invitation to bids to Supplier selection, negotiation, Purchase Order award, and Purchase Order close-out of equipment and services.  Works closely with Category Management and Operational stakeholders.

Job Description

  • Collaborates with category and operational stakeholders to procure goods and services for assigned categories from requisition receipt to invoice payment. Negotiates purchase order terms to meet budget, delivery and quality targets to avoid or minimize internal and external customer downtime. 
  • Leads conversations with other functions and with the supply base to resolve issues or disruptions within the procure to pay process such as alignment on scope and schedule, invoice discrepancies or quality notifications.
  • Routinely maintains and communicates cost and lead time information within ERP system and with stakeholders. 
  • Serves as the single point of contact for Supplier inquiries.
  • May participate in special projects and assignments regarding Lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Ensures purchases orders created are compliant with legal, quality, and commercial standards.

 

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business management, engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years procurement experience
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision on assignments that are broad in nature
  • Lean / Problem solving mindset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, and Ariba, or similar mainframe experience
  • Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
  • Strong analytic and negotiation skills
  • Proactive self-starter with ability to recognize contractual requirements and variances from standards and procedures to ensure compliance. Recognize when consultation with other departments is needed
