Asset Controller

Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring accurate fixed asset accounting, capital project management and financial reporting while maintaining compliance with company policies and Internal Controls. Partners with Operations, Asset Management and Finance to support capital investments, forecasting, audits and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Job Description
- Maintain fixed asset management system records of capital assets including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, amortization and related journal entries.
- Reviews all capital investment proposals and assists Operations in the creation of capital investment proposals.
- Sets up all capital projects.
- Lead Construction in Progress reviews.
- Ensure timely capitalization of assets
- Prepares Capex and Depreciation forecast.
- Lead Capex forecast meeting with leadership.
- Completes month end journal entries, project settlements, accounting reconciliations and balance sheet flux analysis.
- Prepare monthly schedules and analyses.
- Audits asset cycle count program and asset utilization reports.
- Supports Internal and External Audit requests for fixed assets.
- Assists with field inventory audits.
- Assists with and develops asset month end review and internal controls.
- Liaison between Finance and Asset Management Team.
- Uses broad discretion on assignments of varied, diverse and difficulty in nature.
- Make recommendations on process improvements initiatives and analyze cost trends.
- Serves as backup for other business line asset accountant.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, GAAP, and Internal Controls.

- BA/BS in Finance or Accounting.
- At least 5 years of related experience. Manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency with spreadsheets.
- Solid SAP experience.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organized and well-developed time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and solve complex problems with minimum supervision.
- Ability to prepare and deliver presentations.
