• Supports on the installation, testing and repairing of new and reworked TechnipFMC products (equipment and tools)
Job Description
- This position is an entry-level position with the greatest focus on learning and application of skills as related to the assigned areas of expertise. This position assembles and tests mechanical assemblies of low complexity. Also, assembly technicians at this level continue to train on more advanced/complex assemblies.
- Work independently or in a team environment to install, test, and repair TechnipFMC products (equipment and tools), assuring no rig lost time for our customers while controlling expenses and maintaining TechnipFMC-owned assets.
- Assures all equipment, service tooling, and spare parts are on location and ready to use by performing inventories and function-fit tasks prior to beginning each job.
- Records critical information such as dimensions, weights, temperatures, pressures and flow rates to ensure assembly/system will work per design and procedure requirements; also assists with the review of product testing, running and in some cases with assembly procedures.
- Completes tasks in accordance with procedures and applicable codes and/or standards.
- Prepares and completes safety related documentation (Job Safety Analysis, incident, and other required reports) consistently for the purpose of heighten safety awareness and accident prevention.
- Keeps team and supervisor informed regarding the progress and status of work activities.
- Work is primarily in the field environment including offshore drilling and production platforms, land based operational locations and installation vessels.
You are meant for this job if:
- Vocational/Technical certificate, University degree, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Clear understanding of general math & can read, write & comprehend English. Ability to comprehend engineering and weld blueprints.
- Experience working in either hydraulics, electrical, mechanical, or structural technical fields or similar vocational training preferred.
- Understands and efficiently uses basic computer hardware and software to perform tasks.
- Valid passport required.
- Requires basic knowledge of one or more of the following fields: electrical; subsea equipment; hydraulics equipment; mechanical equipment and tools; structural steel.
- Ability to operate high torque wrenches, overhead cranes, jib cranes, forklifts, and rigging. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as tapes, rulers, and pressure gauges.
Work Environment Work is primarily in the field environment including offshore drilling and production platforms, land-based and offshore drilling and production platforms, installation vessels, and international locations. Work is outside and therefore conditions are dependent on the elements (heat, cold, wet, etc.). The job is often required to be done in high noise areas and depending on the particular job, is often completed in a very dirty environment. Must be able to work varied schedules with extended hours.
Physical Demands: This very physical job requires frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, climbing, and driving. Uses mechanical hand tools including all types of manual wrenches and many types of power tools driven with hydraulics, electronics, and pneumatics.
