Job Purpose

The Workshop Master Scheduler is responsible for all aspects of traditional master production scheduling for operations (maintenance, mobilization, SRT and refurbishment services) within the Guyana onshore base operations. The role requires high attention to detail and thorough knowledge in all levels of manufacturing planning and shop operations workflow. The Master Scheduler must proactively engage with stakeholders outside the team to support the forecasting, sales & operations planning, master schedule management, associated capacity planning processes, and handover and support to field service representative. The Master Scheduler must also be capable of analytical and collaborative problem-solving. Furthermore, the Master Scheduler should be capable of supporting the development and improvement of processes related to manufacturing planning and scheduling. 

Scopes for Guyana services base include SRTs, upgrades, mobilizations, demobilizations, and maintenance of all types of equipment. 

Job Description

Main Tasks:

  • Help develop and support a long horizon forecasting process for the workshop demand.
  • Provide support to annual conversion of business unit strategic plans into long-horizon workshop operations and capacity plan, including data-driven recommendations for changes in specific capacity and capability based thereon.
  • Ensure the Master Production Schedule fulfills organizational performance goals around people, safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and support fulfillment of safety goals.
  • The role is accountable to performance goals and must understand how his/her execution of standard responsibilities impacts these goals. She/He must take responsibility for analyzing and improving the role's process standards and decision criteria to continuously improve performance.
  • Audit all orders submitted to workshops for zero defects and clear requirements. Establishes required inputs/requirements for orders and enforces required quality.
  • Maintain the integrity of the Master Production Schedule against standard capacity, ensuring achievable, agreed completion dates (BFDs) based on dynamic shop capacity.
  • Facilitate communications between cross-functional teams to ensure scheduling conflicts are identified early and solutions accurately incorporated into schedules.
  • Facilitates communications among key support functions within the department. Ensures cooperation and interaction across diverse stakeholders, internal and at times, external to the organization.
  • Reviews all contractual documentation regarding project planning and scheduling.
  • Works with shop management and manufacturing engineering to establish capacity profiles in SAP and general capacity plans.
  • The role has no direct reports; however, the role is required to engage with multiple levels of stakeholders throughout the organization and have potential client interaction as well.
  • Develops and leads all collaborative meetings and processes required
  • May be called upon to support or create detailed, operation-sequenced and work center-sequenced schedules for certain orders.
  • Works with the project team to identify major milestones, critical approvals, and long lead items.
  • Suggests corrective actions and/or develops recovery plans when delays are anticipated or occur.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Procurement, Operations, or related field is required - or relevant equivalent job experience and education. Technical background required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing/production (or project) scheduling, production/project planning, operations, and supply chain with advanced SAP skills.
  • Strong, demonstrated capability and understanding of manufacturing/production planning and control, MRP, MRP II, MPS, and ideally production activity control / execution & control of operations.
  • Works without direct supervision. Expected to make majority of backlog and scheduling commitment decisions and recommendations for the Workshop without requiring prior approval, based on a strong and strategic understanding of manufacturing/production planning and MRP.
  • 4+ years in Subsea Oil and Gas industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Advanced skills and knowledge in SAP for production planning, scheduling, and capacity planning.
  • Strong, demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Strong, demonstrated communication (verbal, written, and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in leadership and ability to negotiate and influence.
  • Strong, demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong, demonstrated computer and software skills for standard applications, e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing practices.
  • Ensures effective communication (written, verbal, listening) across functional and managerial boundaries.
  • Recognized as a functional expert in scheduling, production planning, and related process controls.
  • Demonstrated desire to continually learn and develop.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the country, without sponsorship.
