Job Purpose

This role is responsible for monitoring and evaluating TechnipFMC’s adherence to Local Content requirements, while supporting all HR related processes and issues locally. Will report to the Human Resources Manager in the Western Region Subsea Services Organizational Unit in Guyana. 

Job Description

  • Monitor and advise management on regulations relating to the Local Content requirements and applicable changes for compliance.
  • Compile and coordinate data required for Local Content Reporting to the Government of Guyana as required.
  • Attend meetings to report on and defend matters relative to potential breaches in Local Content regulations.
  • Actively participate in various aspect of the information and communication processes for the Company.
  • Ensure Medical Examination are carried out for various categories of staff, at the respective schedule times.
  • Ensure the issuance of employment contracts to all recruits and that they satisfy all the administrative and legal requirements observed by the Company.
  • Ensure registration of employees for:
    • Income Tax
    • National Insurance Scheme
    • Group Life and Medical Insurances
    • Pension Plan
  • Organize job/career fairs and conducts visits to tertiary institutions with the aim of increasing the local content capacity and sourcing top talent.
  • Liaise and cooperate with external agencies and organizations (NIS, GRA, Insurance Broker, Commercial Banks, Technical Institutes, Ministries, and Business Sectors) to improve and maintain extension services.
  • Manage the registration and processing of employees’ National Insurance, Group Life, and Group Health Insurance Claims.
  • Review employees' sickness/injury records and refer identified cases to applicable health institution for advice.
  • Peruse Medical Reports and ensure, where necessary, the doctor’s recommendations are implemented.
  • Supporting HR-related training programs, workshops and seminars, schedule meetings, interviews, and maintain agendas, and take minutes
  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc.)
  • Supporting internal and external inquiries and requests related to the HR Department 
  • Complete exit interviews and termination paperwork.
  • Perform orientations and ensure accurate and proper record-keeping of employee information in electronic and digital format.
  • Collaborate with managers on budget creation for activities geared towards Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
  • Plan and participate in activities geared towards promoting local content in the company.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related discipline (essential) 
  • At least 2 years of experience as an HR Assistant (essential), or relevant Human Resources position
  • Exposure to labor law and employment equity regulations
  • Effective HR administration and people management skills
  • Exposure to statutory deductions associated with NIS and GRA
  • Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools
  • Fantastic organizational and time management skills
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Hands-on experience with an HRIS or HRMS
  • Familiarity with ATS software and resume databases

Work Environment

Office: Spends a minimum of 95% of the time in an office environment. Rare potential shop exposure if visiting that work environment for short periods of time which requires lifting, walking, stooping, bending, and some climbing. Fast paced atmosphere with multiple priorities and constant change.

Physical Demands

Office: Office environment requires sitting, operating a computer, walking and some lifting. Some potential exposure to possible shop hazards when visiting the shop/field environment that includes high noise, heavy machinery, and shop traffic.
