Job Purpose

Participates in engineering solutions as part of a SSE project taskforce, in accordance with TechnipFMC standards, procedures, processes, schedules, and budget, with a continuous concern for quality, targets, and customer satisfaction. This role reports to the Completions Field Service Manager, in the Guyana Customer Services Organization, Georgetown, Guyana.

Job Description

  • Provides onsite and remote technical support and coordination for Topsides Controls operations executed by TechnipFMC at various Field Locations (onshore and offshore) for Guyana projects.
  • Supports installation and testing alone or alongside service technicians on the below scopes;
    • FPSO Commissioning
    • FPSO Maintenance
    • Changeouts of Subsea Equipment that ties into controls system (SCMs, Chokes, EFLs, SFLs, etc.)
    • MSV Installation Operations
  • Supports installation, testing, and maintenance of FPSO systems, including commissioning, changeouts of subsea equipment, and MSV installation operations.
  • Prepares and reviews technical documentation and procedures, ensuring job readiness and responding to technical requests with direct customer interface.
  • Hosts Technical Readiness Reviews (TRR) and After Action Reviews (AAR) to ensure thorough planning and evaluation of on-site and off-site work.
  • Manages inventory control for FPSO equipment, tools, and spares, and develops maintenance plans while supporting software upgrades and tracking equipment obsolescence.
  • Provides training and development for Guyanese Controls TSPs, ensuring technical support and troubleshooting for both planned and unplanned onshore and offshore activities.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Eligibility and Qualifications: Must be a Guyanese National, able to legally work and reside in the country without sponsorship. A BS degree in Engineering is required, along with 2-4 years of experience in the O&G industry, including field experience.

  • Technical Skills: Candidates should have a background in Controls and Automation and be familiar with controls software such as SmartTool and UCOS. They must possess strong PC skills and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.

  • Field Operations: Interest and ability to perform hands-on labor in a field environment during operational execution is essential. Candidates must be willing to travel offsite/offshore as needed and provide technical support and troubleshooting for onshore and offshore activities.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, accuracy, and attention to detail are crucial. Candidates should be able to meet deadlines, manage priorities, and provide technical input to RCAs and resolution of field non-conformances.

  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Candidates must be able to effectively understand and communicate within diverse cultural environments, present ideas clearly, and work in a team-oriented environment.

  • Commitment and Training: Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to core values, lead by example, and embody a customer-oriented attitude. They should be able to work independently without close supervision and complete T-HUET/BOSIET training and all other relevant offshore training.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Work Environment:  Spend 25% time in an office environment and/or 75% in onshore/offshore field environment. May be exposed to possible hazards including noise, outdoor temperature extremes, chemicals, pressure testing, heavy lift operations and shop/field traffic.

Physical Demands:  Office environment requires sitting, operating a computer, walking and some lifting. Hands-on labor in a shop and/or field environment requires lifting, walking, stooping, bending, and some climbing.
