Job Purpose
Subsea Services Controls Team develops control system software and solutions for energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing.
The automation engineer is responsible for working with our customers to maintain/troubleshoot solutions to control, monitor, and automate their industrial processes. It is expected to demonstrate the ability to manage customer expectations and product quality from project test/pre-commissioning through the life of the field. This includes configuration, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems of varying complexity. The candidate must demonstrate process and project management skills to function effectively with customers, peers, and the project development team.
Job Description
- 1-3+ years of experience in configuration and design of industrial control systems on the hardware, software, or modelling side is preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electronic, Controls & Automation, Mechatronics, Chemical, Electrical, Computer Science, or equivalent Engineering, with a focus on industrial process control
- Design, review, and implement both the software and hardware components of a control system from instrumentation to the operator HMI
- Understand dynamics within linear and non-linear systems in general
- Release project documentation, according to International Standards and Customer requirements and present them for customer approval
- Understand the pros and cons of industrial protocols and how they are used
- Understand basic skills within networking and the Windows and Linux operating systems
- Prepare Test Setup and perform MCS/EPU Factory Acceptance Test.
- Coordinate FAT with customer/inspector witnessing point and 3rd party certification (ABS, DNV, BV).
- Promote Document approval and Lessons learned meetings.
- Continuous Process Improvement skillset. Actively contribute to the improvement, Standardization, and cost reduction of existing Designs and Processes.
- Provide Operational training to Customer operators.

- Availability for business travels and offshore activities
- Frequent use of PC
- Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as viewing computer screens and reading
- Global travel to remote areas, onshore and offshore
- Must be able to pass designated offshore medical physical exam or possess current medical
- Must be able to pass designated offshore survival examinations or possess current offshore survival certification
- May be required to take relevant qualified screening and be subject to random alcohol/drug testing requirements
