Job Purpose

The Project Manager is responsible for leading project teams, in compliance with company policy and procedure for the execution of projects, and in a manner which achieves project and business objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.  

Job Description

 

  • Primary contact for the project internally and towards the end customer. Manages customer relationship and communication throughout the project life-cycle, including regular project reporting to customer's satisfaction.   
  • Manages multi-disciplined project team including successful relationships with all team members and their functional managers. Supports Project Finance/Controls with monthly & quarterly financial reporting requirements.      
  • Manages compliance with all national regulations and company policy/procedure through all phases of project execution, including from project hand-over with Commercial to the successful financial closure of the project.     
  • Leads all aspects of project scope management including best practice Management of Change, management of Project Risks and Opportunities including mitigation of risk, identifying and documenting effective Project Lessons Learned.  
  • Supports Portfolio Manager in all aspects of achieving departmental objectives including identification and implementation of business improvements. Active participation in project/portfolio revenue & margin forecasting.    

Skills

Essential 

  • Good understanding of the principles & best practices of the project execution phases and process.  
  • Demonstrates a track record of undertaking education, learning, training in the work place.
  • Qualified or demonstrates ability to be fluent in the use of the Microsoft software apps and other ERP business applications. 
  • Strong in both written and verbal communication, negotiation & influencing skills.
  • Holds a strong passion or interest for the Engineering & Manufacturing sectors

Desirable 

  • Holds formal project management qualification (APM, PMI, PRINCE2,).
  • Degree qualified in either Commercial or Technical discipline.
  • Is experienced in the use of our current ERP/MRP, Planning/Scheduling systems.  
  • Has experience in leading multi-discipline project teams.
  • Has a deep understanding of Manufacturing and the Project, Product & Production Engineering Bill-of-materials.

  • Uses rounded knowledge of business systems & software applications well in daily execution of the role 
  • Uses communication, influencing and negotiation skills to good effect 
  • Displays enthusiasm & motivation and uses them in combination with strong commercial, technical & process knowledge  

Desirable

  • Track record in the application of the principles of best practice Project Management in Manufacturing/Engineering  
  • Supports others in becoming fluent in the appropriate use of our chosen business applications and ERP/MRP systems 
  • Uses deep Commercial & Engineering understanding at detailed level to support project team in successful outcomes
