Job Purpose
The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for guiding the vision and leading the execution of work for the Schilling Robotics Business unit including:
- Tactical achievement of critical metrics (safety, people, quality, delivery, and costs)
- Strategic initiatives to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and integration of new product development
- Develop the skills of the workforce, enhance employee retention, and implement strategic staffing plans
Job Description
- Works with Director of Manufacturing and the value stream leader in developing strategic production and capital plan as well as Safety, Quality, Training, Business Excellence Plan.
- Mitigate risk by improving the supply chain base with tools such as obsolescence management, reduction of sole source supply, supplier score cards, and contract negotiations.
- Lead strategic drive for solutions to reduce OPEX in conjunction with approving and securing required CAPEX funding.
- Develop annual budgets.
- Sponsor cross functional teams to drive continuous improvements throughout the manufacturing plants.
- Facilitate vendor negotiations as needed with the support of Legal Department.
- Ensure compliance to SOX policy and processes related to manufacturing and supply chain.
- Ensure compliance to the Code of Business Conduct.
- Incorporate industry standards and participate in retention of ISO certification.
- Develop talent with career discussions, stretch assignments, and professional growth to support retention and succession plan.
- Interface with upstream departments and functions such as Product Engineering, Sales etc. to support opportunities for revenue growth, new market entries and where collaboration will result in improved manufacturability of parts at lower cost and shorter product delivery
You are meant for this job if:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- 15 years of experience in operations, with 10 years minimum of manufacturing management.
- Strong technical knowledge, proficient in lean processes, problem solving, and data analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to drive year over year OPEX improvements.
- Cost accounting and financial understanding to execute a profitable manufacturing environment.
- Budget planning, capex preparation and cost control experience.
- Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to performance manage.
- Effective communication and team building skills.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems.
- Understanding of Quality Systems.
- Experience in manufacturing strategic planning.

Salary Range
$111,200 - $158,900 - $206,600
This pay scale is intended to comply with applicable state minimum wage laws. In the event that state minimum wage provides for compensation in excess of the lower end of the range reflected herein, that lower end should automatically be read to reflect the minimum wage required by state law. If and when the Company learns of such a discrepancy, it will promptly adjust the scale to comply with state law. Under no circumstances, however, should any scale provided by the Company herein be read or interpreted to suggest that the Company intends to pay below state mandated minimum wage for this position.
