Job Purpose

A Service Workshop Technician Level 1 roles are often entry-to-mid-level, focusing on hands-on, procedural tasks while learning more complex systems from senior staff.

Work is generally performed in a workshop environment with, at times, urgent repair demands.

A Service Workshop Technician Level 1 responsible for the inspection, maintenance, to repair service tools ensuring its optimal performance.

They work under the Service Tools Coordinator supervision. key duties include offshore toolbox preparation, equipment and tools clean-up, replacing worn parts, conducting preventative maintenance, and documenting service work in compliance with safety standards.

Job Description

  • Maintenance & Repair: Performing disassembly, cleaning, inspection, polishing.
  • Equipment Preparation: Ensure equipment is tested and preserved as per procedures, prepare equipment for mobilization per schedules, maintain spare part and service tools safe stocks.
  • Workshop Safety: Maintaining a clean and organized work environment and following strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Recording service details, completing maintenance checklist and preparing reports on repairs performed.
  • Staffs Interaction: Communication with service advisors regarding necessary repairs and assisting senior technician with complex task.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Experience: Generally, requires 1+ years of experience in maintenance, preferably in oilfield service, mechanical, or workshop environments but enthusiastic fresh graduates are also welcome who are keen to expand their growth.
  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of hand tools & power tools. Understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read drawings, use measuring tools, and operate hydraulic tools.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent technical diploma. A diploma or certificate in a relevant technical field (mechanical) will be preferred. Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge is encouraged & English language is must.
  • Physical/Operational: Must be able to follow detailed procedures and work in a team environment.
