Project Quality Engineer (18 months contract)

Job Purpose
As a Project Quality Engineer, ensuring customer requirements are respected all along the projects execution. Interpret customer’s QA/QC requirements, negotiates an aligned solution then makes sure quotes, orders, and documentation submitted meet those requirements (Applicable codes and standards-API-PED-Norsok–customer specifications…).
Identify and managed quality, contractual and codes risk exposures .Establish QA/ QC documentation at time of quote and execution (QP, ITPs etc…), follow up with QA / QC department and/or vendors to make sure the requirements are met. Work closely with Project Manager(s) and procurement function.
Be the focal point of contact for customer and vendors during project execution. Participates to QA meetings with customers. Participate to the customer reception/inspection of the equipment at vendors or TechnipFMC locations.
Actively assists in managing concession request resolution and takes steps to enable future prevention. Provides support and expertise on QA / QC to the project group during quote and order entry processes. Coordinate customer audits and inspections mandated by customer. Ensure there is consistency between vendors and customer document lists.
Job Description
Facilitates communications between customers and Project Group and between Project group and operations/vendors and QA QC organization.
Be the point of contact for QA QC customer’s organization
Able to develop strong relationships with customer QA QC rep.
Shares opinions, ideas and resources with others to achieve common goal.
Has no direct input on budget or revenues, however his role consists to make sure we are meeting the requirements and not over providing in terms of quality, the cost of the product and our competitiveness must be one of the drivers of his action.
Explain the degree of supervision/guidance, procedures/ processes used, judgement, creativity, planning & resourcefulness needed to do the job.
Receives frequent guidance on difficult technical problems.
Demonstrates solid understanding of international standards and policies and procedures that apply to assignments and works within those guidelines. Analyzes and interprets data independently, develops alternative solutions with conclusions reviewed by higher levels. Anticipates potential problems and takes preventative action.
How are errors detected and what is possible impact of those errors?
Progress and results are reviewed frequently. Technical errors could be serious and may have negative impact on customer relations, and the performance of the project group.
Spends most of time in an office environment, but is expected to intervene into TPFMC Production facilities and that of TPFMC vendors. Travels time is not significant. Can occasionally visits customer offices
You are meant for this job if:
BS Degree in Engineering or QA QC (or equivalent).
Five years’ minimum of work experience in Engineering or QC department, ideally in EPC company working on Subsea or Surface systems or at least in the Petroleum Sector.
Flexibility and autonomy to adapt to variable workload.
Demonstrated interpersonal, negotiating, and writing and presentation skills in order to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts.
Some understanding of internal economic factors (cost, margins, profit impact of decisions) affecting assignment areas.
Must be proficient in use of CAD and Database systems related to Engineering and QA QC functions. PC skills with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project and Internet access software.
Shows evidence of good organization and project planning skills.
Skills or qualification in QC areas such as welding or NDT are a plus.
