Job Purpose

Responsible for the safe and efficient execution and delivery of offshore operations to the satisfaction of the Client and Project Manager and in accordance with statutory regulations, Company rules, and objectives.

Job Description

  • Oversees offshore operations and ensures that operational performance is in line with the project schedule and expectation
  • Plans and anticipates organizational needs in terms of offshore construction, in liaison with Project Management and other related areas
  • Minimizes the cost of operations while maintaining optimum operational performance and not compromising safety
  • Improves and implements safety programs and ensures site working conditions
  • Manages offshore operations activities, ensuring the integration and delivery of multiple disciplines
  • Challenges construction schedule and develops strategies and corrective measures to ensure respect of schedules
  • Reports daily project activities in accordance with project, Company, and Client requirements
  • Checks and approves subcontractors’ invoices, in collaboration with the Subcontract Administration Manager, Cost Control Manager and Superintendents before submitting them to the Site Manager for approval
  • Ensures compliance with all local legislation and custom

You are meant for this job if:

  • Engineering degree or similar qualification
  • Valid offshore medical/survival certificate
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of offshore subsea construction and/or pipe lay processes, including a good working knowledge of cranes, rigging, lifting, QHSE, and operational procedures
  • Extensive experience in a similar role
  • Must have one of: International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA), Closed Bell Supervisors certificate (including UK and Norwegian legislative modules), and HSE Part 2 certificate or recognized equivalent for bell diving operations
  • OPITO accredited Rigging and Lifting Supervisory qualifications
  • Appropriate electrical or mechanical trade qualification (City and Guilds Level 3, National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) Level 3, Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 or equivalent)
