Job Purpose
The TechnipFMC Offshore Apprenticeship Scheme is a 4 year competence based scheme which comprises of on and off the job training and is run in conjunction with NESCol (North East Of Scotland College).
Job Description
The Apprentices follow the SEMTA (Science Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies Alliance) Modern Apprenticeship Technician framework.
This consists of:
- PEO (Performing Engineering Operations) in Electrical, Maintenance or General Mechanical Engineering
- SVQ Level III
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering
The PEO is equivalent to an SVQ Level II and is the foundation phase of the apprenticeship, it is workshop based focusing on core engineering workshop skills.
The HNC in Mechanical engineering is a classroom based course which centres around solving mathematical problems which are applied to mechanical engineering principles.
The SVQ Level III is completed in the workshop whereby the apprentice creates a portfolio of work over the course of their apprenticeship and this is examined in stages by an assessor and by the workshop manager.
Both the PEO and HNC are completed over the first 2 years of the apprenticeship, the SVQ Level III begins in the 2nd year and ends in the final year of the apprenticeship.
Apprentices will be expected to work offshore within the TechnipFMC fleet upon completion of their apprenticeship.

Required:
- National 5: English, Mathematics (B or above)
Nice to have:
- National 5: Science (preferably Physics)
College leaver:
- NC and/or HNC in Engineering (preferably Mechanical)
