The Flow Technology Development Center (FTDC) based at Arnhem in the Netherlands are looking for a Technologist to join the team. They are responsible for some of TechnipFMC’s key technology innovations regarding separation technology. Development activities carried out by FTDC are varied. A few example areas are hydrogen processing, carbon capture and storage, digital twin development, methane emissions abatement, oil and gas processing and water treatment systems.

The position of Technologist requires a motivated candidate who enjoys teamwork within a global organization. You will be challenged to solve interesting technical challenges and prove to customers that our solution works from both a technical and business economics perspective. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assist to develop/maintain relationships with TechnipFMC’s customers and technology partners.
• Help understand and anticipate technology gaps and service needs for TechnipFMC’s customers.
• Brainstorm and develop novel ideals for technologies that fulfill specific customer needs.
• Develop calculation tools and/or use advanced process simulation and/or computational fluid dynamics software to understand physical problem and prove solution concepts.
• Collaborate with business analysts to understand and validate the business case for new solution.
• Collaborate with TechnipFMC legal counsel for intellectual property applications.
• Create budget requests for a specific product development by means of a validated business case.
• Creating technical proposals for clients to develop, test and/or qualify new technology.
• Design of individual testing installations and testing of novel separation solutions.
• Layout design, safety instructions and procedures for the testing area.
• Create technical report and assist in commercialization plan for the developed solutions.

Required competencies:
• MSc or PhD in a technical field e.g. Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, Physics, Controls and Automation or similar.
• Capable of structural approach to solve complex problems.
• Open-minded, speak professional English, and adaptable for working in multicultural global organization.
• Continuously raising standards, innovative and solution oriented.
