Job Purpose
The Business Developement and Sales Manager plays a critical role in driving the commercial success of the Surface business across Algeria.
Job Description
This position is responsible for:
• Implementing business development and sales strategies aligned with regional objectives and tailored to the Algerian market, including Sonatrach HQ, regional entities, and the wider ecosystem of operators and contractors.
• Building and maintaining long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including Sonatrach headquarters and regional directorates, IOCs, Joint Ventures, Service Companies, and EPC contractors.
• Acting as the Key Account Management focal point, driving strategic partnerships with Sonatrach and its affiliates while strengthening engagement with key industry players.
• Leading account planning and engagement strategies for Sonatrach, ensuring alignment with customer priorities, early identification of opportunities (tenders, frame agreements, call-offs), and effective positioning of TechnipFMC solutions.
• Identifying and developing new business opportunities throughout the sales cycle across Sonatrach, IOCs, JVs, and EPCs/Service Companies.
• Defining and executing go-to-market strategies, including pricing, value propositions, and competitive positioning adapted to the Algerian environment and Sonatrach practices.
• Conducting market analysis and customer segmentation to support CRM and forecasting tools (e.g., Salesforce).
• Driving competitive intelligence to refine market and pricing strategies, with a strong understanding of competitors and partnerships.
• Developing and maintaining capture plans with the regional manager, including focused plans for key accounts such as Sonatrach and major partners.
• Supporting proposal development and customer presentations, ensuring alignment with Sonatrach specifications and strong localization/value propositions.
• Negotiating contracts and MSAs in line with corporate policies, Sonatrach frameworks, and local regulations.
• Managing a client portfolio and delivering sales targets, with a focus on strategic accounts.
• Representing TechnipFMC at industry events and reinforcing brand visibility in Algeria.
• Ensuring compliance with corporate policies, local regulations, and ethical standards.
• Promoting cross-division collaboration to leverage integrated solutions and support opportunities across Algeria.
You are meant for this job if:
- Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
- Extensive experience in the energy industry, including field work, and customer facing roles.
- Excellent customer engagement skills, with a focus on maintaining long-term customer relationships.
- Proven track record in developing new business opportunities and successful project execution.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and develop strategic business plans.
- Strong knowledge of Drilling & Completions, Pressure Control, and Shallow Water equipment and standards.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Exceptional ability to guide and support teams, driving improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
- Understanding and adherence to industry regulations and standards.
- Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and challenges.
