Job Purpose

Manages the LOF engineering team within ICAD, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Ensures the compliance with TechnipFMC engineering standards, good practices and operational execution excellence

Responsible for LOF engineering team growth and development to meet the needs of internal and external customers in the field of D&C (drilling and completions) Operations, MMR (modification, maintenance & repair) & iComplete 

Job Description

Budget/revenue responsibility 

  •  Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities

Management

  • Manages a multi-discipline LOF engineering team to support offshore operations and base activities covering D&C, instrumentation/automation and MMR (modification, maintenance and repair) ensuring the quantitative and qualitative adjustment of engineering resources according to project and/or operational needs

Impact 

  • Inaccurate decisions and recommendations would normally result in missing critical goals and loss of customer or business 

Responsibilities

  • Manages the whole LOF base engineering team and ensures the quantitative and qualitative adjustment of engineering resources according to project and/or operational needs. Defines the proper staffing and level of skills according to requirements of the projects and/or operations. Maintains the level of know-how and competencies of his/her engineering team in regards to projects and/or operational requirements through selection and training of his/her engineering team. Validates scope and resources during the definition of the engineering organization on projects
  • Guarantees the compliance with TechnipFMC engineering design and manufacturing standards, procedures, and processes, and the respect of quality standards, targets, and customer satisfaction. Monitors the involvement and performance of his/her engineering team during projects, and compliance with TechnipFMC processes and standards
  • Responsible for regional LOF engineering technical integrity and growth thru liaison with LOF support center, engineering centers and alternative services providers. Consolidation of discipline know-how and best practices through the creation and updating of own discipline reference documentation. Dissemination and transfer of know-how and best practices through work group animation
  • Defines and provides the proper staffing and level of skills according to requirements of the projects and/or operations.
  • Maintains the level of know-how and competencies of his/her engineering teams in regards for projects and/or operations requirements through selection and training of his/her engineering teams.
  • Validates scope and resources during the definition of the engineering organization on projects.
  • Monitors the involvement and performance of his/her engineering teams during projects, and compliance with TechnipFMC processes and standards.
  • Ensures technical integrity and growth of disciplines.
  • Monitors and manages performance of team through goal setting and establishment of targets and measures in the form of agreed and periodically published KPIs.

You are meant for this job if:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/FORMAL EDUCATION:

Mechanical Engineering Bachelor Degree (Masters preferred) or Tertiary education in Oil & Gas discipline

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 10+ years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, preferably in Surface D&C equipment
  • At minimum 3 years of Lead or Supervisory role 

 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATE(S):

Mechanical Engineering Bachelor Degree (Masters preferred) or Tertiary education in Oil & Gas discipline

 

REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to coordinate multi-discipline projects and groups
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Skilful communicator
  • Advanced planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent command of English is required.

 

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS AND/OR PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge of Surface wellhead and tree equipment or related subsea equipment
  • Working knowledge of the installation and operation of Surface wellhead and tree equipment or related subsea equipment 
  • Appreciation of well architecture, construction and drilling operations and general O&G off/onshore industry
  • Appreciation of industry governing design codes and standards such as API, ASME, DNV or NORSOK
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends
  • Requires innovative thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-department problems
  • TechnipFMC Surface Technologies related Product trainings
  • Formal Management & Leadership training
  • Others that may be of interest if they increase competency level or are a result of customer requirements
