Job Purpose

Provides technical support to internal and external customers across the lifetime of the product from manufacturing, testing and final installation at end-user location including after-sales/ service technical support.

 

Research, plans, coordinates and proposes original designs of mechanical products and systems.

Performs original design and layout work to develop new or modified products on CAD equipment.

Employs extensive knowledge of engineering theory, mathematics and practical mechanics to solve design and production problems.

Job Description

  • Performs as technical point of contact for internal and external customers to provide support for ongoing projects and operations.
  • Performs accurate disposition of Quality Notifications (QNs) and rework/refurbishment/remanufacture activity.
  • Creates procedures and work instructions for mobilization, demobilization, maintenance, refurbishment, and repair activities.
  • Create, check, and reviews Engineering documentation through the ECN process.
  • Prepares all levels of engineering calculations for design reviews.
  • Prepares and presents complex ideas, design concepts, design improvement proposals, and procedures for technical discussions that may include both internal and external clients/suppliers.
  • Participates in discussions with clients to understand their needs, manage expectations, troubleshoot and produce technical solutions to meet project requirements.
  • Prepares, plans and participates in System Integration Testing (SITs).
  • Applies analytical and problem-solving skills while under pressure to provide real time technical support in response to manufacturing issues.
  • Leads design staff, on a project basis, in analyzing design alternatives. Suggests design options and prepares layouts illustrating the need of the customer.
  • Ability to establish deadlines and manage priorities for self and others.
  • Provide a link to other service hubs and regional engineering groups to transfer knowledge, experience, and best practices.
  • Provides support and expertise in local HSEQ activities, RCA's, HAZOP's, and Risk Assessments.
  • Follow all TechnipFMC rules and procedures for Engineering, Quality, Environment, Health and Safety.

  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/FORMAL EDUCATION:
    • Mechanical Engineering Bachelor Degree
    • Preferred 3 years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry as an Engineer (Design Engineer/WH and XT Engineer/System Engineer/Project Engineer/Choke & Valve Engineer/Production systems Engineer) working with Surface equipment.
    • Knowledge and understanding of drilling operations specifically related Surface wellhead equipment
    • Familiar with industry standards and design guidelines including API 6A, API 17D, NACE MR0175, etc
    • Knowledge and understanding of design, manufacturing, and refurbishment processes, with an understanding of economic factors (cost, profit, impact of decisions)

 

  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
    • Preferred 3 years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry as an Engineer (Design Engineer/WH and XT Engineer/System Engineer/Project Engineer/Choke & Valve Engineer/Production systems Engineer) working with Surface equipment.

 

  • REQUIRED CERTIFICATE(S):
    • Mechanical Engineering Bachelor Degree

 

  • REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
    • Highly self-motivated with good communication skills.
    • Able to contribute in technical discussions that involve multiple functions across the business.
    • Able to guide and support others within the engineering team.

 

  • REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS AND/OR PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS:
    • Ability to perform high level engineering calculations in accordance with applicable engineering design guidelines.
    • Experienced in relevant engineering and project management tools: CAD (Unigraphics/NX), Mathcad, TCE, SAP and MS office.
    • Able to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), utilizing industry practiced methodology.
