Job Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced field professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges while contributing to the success of our customers and operations worldwide.

As a Field Service Technician, you will play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality field service operations across both onshore and offshore environments. Acting as a technical subject matter expert, you will be responsible for the preparation, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of TechnipFMC equipment and associated products, ensuring equipment performs reliably in the field.

Working closely with customers, project teams, and service management, you will provide technical expertise, support operational execution, and help drive continuous improvements in safety, quality, and performance. This role offers the opportunity to work internationally, lead field activities, mentor junior colleagues, and build strong client relationships while representing TechnipFMC as a trusted service partner. The successful candidate will be proactive, safety-focused, customer-oriented, and committed to delivering operational excellence in challenging and dynamic environments.

Job Description

  • Install, test, repair, and maintain TechnipFMC (TFMC) equipment and tools, including reworked and third‑party products.
  • Prepare all necessary equipment, service tooling, backup systems, and spare parts to ensure readiness and functionality prior to job start.
  • Perform required calculations and checks onshore and offshore (e.g., space‑outs, equipment status, test pressures).
  • Independently or within a team, execute field service activities in accordance with TFMC Service Manuals and procedural standards.
  • Complete all required field documentation, including Field Service Orders (FSO), Field Spare Parts Tickets (FSPT), Field Non‑Conformance Reports (FNCR), and related service reports with accurate timing, part/serial numbers, and equipment details.
  • Communicate all equipment and procedural defects to Service Management and ensure proper documentation is submitted promptly.
  • Maintain high‑level daily communication with internal and external company representatives regarding job procedures, spare parts, critical measurements, and operational status.
  • Provide sales support and quality customer interface, including handling customer comments, requests, and complaints professionally.
  • Support project execution by reporting daily to the Service Project Manager and escalating business‑critical decisions when required.
  • Provide project support during operations, handling emerging issues to prevent downtime.
  • Prepare and complete safety‑related documentation and consistently pursue safe work practices in alignment with TFMC Quality Management System and QHSE requirements.
  • Actively suggest improvements to enhance safety, operational efficiency, and equipment performance.
  • Lead field personnel as required, supervising field service teams, coaching/mentoring junior colleagues, and ensuring tasks comply with procedures, codes, and standards.
  • Ensure smooth onshore and offshore operational performance while liaising effectively with client representatives.
  • Assist in developing procedural requirements for current and future jobs.
  • Represent TFMC professionally, acting as an ambassador and identifying opportunities to improve service quality and customer success.

You are meant for this job if:

  • HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering or time served apprenticeship preferably in a mechanical discipline.A formal technical and/or mechanical education (mechanic, hydraulics)
  • Several years of experience in field service technician role
  • Knowledge of surface wellheads and surface operations is essential
  • Ability to read and understand drawings
  • Able to perform moderate complex calculations
  • Ability to understand, troubleshoot, explain and teach others about technical tools and instruments required to perform duties
  • Knowledge of safety in relation to working with pressurized equipment, exploitation of cranes; gas equipment.
