Job Purpose
Provision of engineering support to Vessel and Spoolbase Operations (VSO) to industrialise our business and enable significant reductions in cost and lead time to generate superior returns to invest in our future growth, while never compromising on our foundational beliefs.
Job Description
- Champion safety and quality
- Maintain up to date vessel documentation
- Facilitate efficient and cost-effective execution of projects and operations
- Maintain effective communications with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide engineering support to Project Management Teams and Vessel Execution Teams
- Support and guide operations engineers
- Maintain vessel and equipment reference documentation
- Propose and manage vessel and equipment modifications
- Provide support to offshore crew liaising with all parties, particularly Offshore Management Team
- Attend vessel as required
Main Accountabilities
Onshore support for operations:
- Provide information link between Project Management Team/Vessel Execution Stream and Offshore Management Team
- Assess and manage risks related to all vessel operation and handling
- Review operations, providing guidance where necessary
- Assist project planners and develop schedules of work
- Continuously update vessel documentation including reference manual, deck layouts, vessel/equipment specifications etc.
- Prepare and issue work packs including documentation as required for vessel and project work scopes
- Expertise checks and guidelines approvals
- Provide onshore support to vessels and crew
- Provide support to Asset Manager as required
Vessel mobilisation and offshore work scopes:
- Manage small teams of 3rd parties onboard providing support, knowledge and documentation as required
- Identify risks to daily operations onboard and provide/support solutions
- Progress and manage ongoing Capex projects
- Identify and propose future Capex for operation improvement
- Prepare operations: asset readiness and logistics (personnel / equipment)
- Consolidate lessons learnt
- Develop standard operation procedures and documentation for Vessel Execution Streams
You are meant for this job if:
- University degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering/ Navel Architecture)
- Electrical/Hydaulic/Mechanical technical training would be preferred
- Several years experience in subsea construction
- Detailed knowledge of techniques for offshore/subsea construction operations
- Operational knowledge of interfaces linked to vessel/project mobilisation
- Detailed knowledge of marine procedures and capabilities
- Detailed knowledge of industry legislation and governance
- Experience in supply chain management
- Available for multiple vessel trips up to 6 weeks long (4 weeks typically)
- Experience with Microsoft Project. AutoCAD, Inventor
- Experience with creating and managing projects and budgets
