Job Purpose

To support the Technical Department by providing accurate and timely reporting on the vessel Planned Maintenance System (PMS), ensuring data integrity for maintenance, compliance, and audit readiness. The role involves maintaining Power BI dashboards and improving data processes to enhance operational oversight.

Job Description

  • Prepare and transform maintenance data from multiple systems to develop clear visualizations, dashboards, and reports that support the Technical Department’s operational oversight and decision-making.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from SQL databases, Excel files, and various cloud platforms.
  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness in the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) Snowflake tables to support regulatory compliance and maintain audit readiness across the fleet.
  • Prepare, organize, and present maintenance data to meet internal reporting needs and external audit requirements, ensuring clarity, traceability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Data Steward for VSO maintenance data. Apply data governance best practices
  • Build and optimize data models using star and snowflake schemas to support reporting and analytics.
  • Collaborate with other departments, gather reporting requirements, prepare and deliver tailored solutions and additional reports
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude toward learning new technologies, including advanced Power BI features and data engineering practices.

You are meant for this job if:

Strong understanding of data extraction methods, including the use of data spies, SQL queries, and ETL tools to harness and transform data accurately.

Proficient in Microsoft Power BI, including data modelling, DAX calculations, and interactive dashboard development.

Knowledge of data modelling techniques (e.g., star and snowflake schemas) to support efficient reporting and analytics.

Able to translate business requirements into actionable data solutions, ensuring clarity, usability, and alignment with strategic goals. Committed to continuous learning and professional development in data analytics and reporting technologies.

Familiar with data governance principles, including metadata management and data lineage tracking.

Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Power BI, with working knowledge of tools like PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook and Teams.
