Job Purpose
The Project Control Manager (PCM) assists the Project Manager (PM) in the overall control of the project and is specifically in charge of managing from a project perspective:
▪ Cost control
▪ Planning and scheduling
▪ Progress monitoring and reporting
▪ Document control
▪ Coordinating and Monitoring all Project Change
▪ Project Performance Measurement including Value Destruction
▪ Risk management
Job Description
- Highest delivery possible of responsibilities / accountabilities, both internal and external, within a pressurised environment and stringent deadlines
- Ensures project activities execution within Project Control disciplines, in accordance with Business Management System (BMS)
- Provide the Project Director / Manager, with comprehensive and reliable data and information about the Project Status (actual, forecast, trends)
- Assist pro-actively the Project Manager on the identification of preventative measures or corrective actions, as much as required to improve the project status and mitigate the risks
- Ensure continuously that the relevant motivation is effective among the Project Management Team (PMT) and cascaded down through the whole team
- Develop and issue the Project Control Procedures
- Ensuring all reporting disciplines are in receipt of accurate / timely data
- Tracking all project change
- Reviewing and validating the below documents prepared by the team or others :
Progress Monitoring Structure: Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Organization Breakdown Structure (OBS), Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS)
Master Schedules; Document Progress Status (MDR); Performance Status (KPI’s)
- Cashflow tracking and forecasting of payment milestones
- CCS Baseline and Re-baselines when required
- Analyzing the actual status and forecast for Cost, Progress and Schedule
- Co-ordinating the internal record of all project change and assisting in the preparation of change Orders and/or Claims
- Management of the Project Risk Register
- Issues reports internally and to Client / Partners
- At project close –out, responsible to issue feedback report and lessons learned, for Project feedback but also for discipline data-base
You are meant for this job if:
Professional or degree level qualification or an extensive relevant experience of same in Engineering or Purchasing, Quantity Surveying, Business or Legal discipline
Excellent numeracy & analytical skills
Strong understanding of the principles of contracts management, cost control, planning and scheduling and risk management and project management reporting
Advanced MS Excel skills
Working knowledge of Primavera and Microsoft Project Scheduling Software
Experience in project services in the offshore/onshore oil & gas industry, or construction industry with exposure to large-scale EPC or EPCM projects
