Job Purpose
The Project Services Manager assists the Project Manager (PM) in the project services aspects of a project and is specifically in charge of managing from a project perspective:
▪ Cost control
▪ Planning and scheduling
▪ Progress monitoring and reporting
▪ Document control
▪ Project Management of Change
▪ Project Performance Measurement including Value Destruction
▪ Risk management
Job Scope
- Ensures project activities execution within Project Services disciplines are in accordance with Global Business Management System (BMS) Standards and Project Services RACI
- Provide the Project Director / Manager, with comprehensive and reliable data and information about the Project Status (actual, forecast, trends) to drive decisions
- Assist pro-actively the Project Manager on the identification of preventative measures or corrective actions, as much as required to improve the project status and risk mitigation
- Lead cross functional collaboration in problem solving, lean SSI initiatives, Obeyas
- Develop and issue the Project Control Procedures
- Ensuring all reporting package teams have access to accurate information timely
- Reviewing and validating the below deliverables prepared by the team or others :
Progress Monitoring Structure: Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Organization Breakdown Structure (OBS), Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS); Risk Management Assessment (RMA); Cost Sensitivity Analysis (CSA);
Master Schedules; Document Progress Status (MDR); Performance Status (KSFs and KPIs); Rome updates
- Work with Cost controllers to ensure Cashflow tracking and forecasting of payment milestones
- CCS Baseline and Re-baselines when required
- Analyzing the actual status and forecast for Cost, Progress and Schedule
- Co-ordinating the internal record of all project change and assisting in the preparation of change Orders and/or Claims in compliance with our standard Management of Change process
- Management of the Project Risk Register and follow up with help chain owners
- Issues progress reports internally and to Client / Partners
- At project close –out, responsible to issue feedback report and lessons learned, for Project feedback but also for discipline data-base
- Support internal and external audits
- Support tenders
- Ensure that project complies with Subsea gate compliances through the life cycle of the project
Skills and Qualfications
Qualifications
Professional or degree level qualification or an extensive relevant experience of same in Engineering or Purchasing, Quantity Surveying, Business or Legal discipline
Knowledge/Skills
- Excellent numeracy & analytical skills
- Strong understanding of the principles of contracts management, cost control, planning and scheduling and risk management and project management reporting
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Working knowledge of Primavera and Microsoft Project Scheduling Software
Experience
- Strong proven experience in project services in the offshore/onshore oil & gas industry, or construction industry with exposure to large-scale EPC or EPCM projects
