Process and Flow Assurance Engineer

Job Purpose

As a member of the Front End & System Engineering team, the Process and Flow assurance engineer will be involved in several stages of the field development process, all the way to later project phases. Under the supervision of the Process and Flow Assurance Manager, he/she will work closely with Study Managers to define the best technical solution for the field.

The primary contribution will be through undertaking Process system unit design, develop and review P&IDs, isometric drawings, and process flow diagrams (PFDs), C&E, Alarm and Trips, carry out process safety reviews including HAZOP, HAZID, FMEA and LOPA. Candidate will be able to perform simple flow assurance studies, including steady state and transient thermal and transient thermal and hydraulic flow simulations. The role will involve close interaction with other engineering disciplines internal, or sometimes external, such as subsurface/reservoir engineering, production chemistry, subsea pipelines and distribution and topsides process.

Job Description

• Provide technical input into the design of process units, new pipelines, production facilities, and associated infrastructure to ensure optimal flow conditions.
• Develop and review P&IDs, isometric drawings, and process flow diagrams (PFDs), Cause and Effects Diagrams, Alarms and Trip, Process Safety Memorandum.
• Carry out process safety reviews including HAZOP, HAZID, FMEA and LOPA
• Carryout Flow Assurance studies on field development studies and/or projects.
• Conduct simulations and flow assurance studies to analyse and mitigate potential issues such as hydrate formation, wax deposition, scale buildup, slugging, and sand management.
• Prepare detailed study reports and present findings and solutions to clients and other stakeholders.
• Ensure all process and flow assurance activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety guidelines.
• Assist PEM & FDE in client facing meeting and contributes towards field scenario framing exercise.

You are meant for this job if:

• Degree qualified, ideally BEng or MEng
• Experience in upstream oil and gas projects
• Preferably prior experience in field development / conceptual / front end subsea engineering
• Used to working in a multi-disciplinary environment, including working closely with process, pipeline and subsea engineers
• Understanding of Process Safety regulations and standards and industry best practices
• Proficiency in the use of Safety management software
• Knowledge of Process, flow assurance and fluid analysis applications such as HYSYS, OLGA, PIPESIM, PIPEFLO, PVTsim
• Numerate and competent in Microsoft Excel with good data management skills
• Good spoken and written English with experience in compiling technical reports
• Good listener, at ease in front of clients, with good presentation skills
