Job Purpose

There are two potential roles for candidates with each role described below:

Role 1 - Define and lead standardization, simplification and industrialization (SSI) initiatives and technology development projects in the field of structural engineering on behalf of TechnipFMC globally. Candidate would be part of the Installation & Construction Center of Expertise (I&C CoE). Maintain productive relationships with regional engineering teams and other key stakeholders to deliver initiatives with global impact.

Role 2 - Define and engineer structural solutions within the UK I&C engineering department.

Act as a technical and technological reference for structural engineering, in accordance with TechnipFMC and industry standards, procedures and processes. Define schedules and resource forecasting, with a continuous concern for quality, targets, and customer satisfaction both internal as well as external of TechnipFMC.

Job Description

Role 1

  • Use expertise to define initiatives for simplification, standardization and industrialization and technology development.
  • Provide high quality technical engineering to deliver development initiatives.
  • Application of new technology on live projects.
  • Where required co-ordinate with regional engineering teams and Vessel and Spoolbase Organization to deliver development initiatives
  • Contribute to development and protection of TechnipFMC intellectual property in the field of structural engineering.
  • Development and management of business cases, project budget and resource plans.
  • External engagement including clients, verification authorities and industry engagement via JIP's, production of relevant technical papers and presentation at conferences.
  • Engage with regional engineering teams to ensure a positive working relationship to ensure adoption and buy-in to development initiatives.
  • Support to incident investigations and root cause analysis.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Vast amount of experience as a structural engineer
  • Experience of design of installation aids, temporary structures and seafastening for subsea installation projects
  • A detailed understanding of subsea construction methods and equipment
  • A detailed understanding of the structural strength of ships and the associated regulations
  • Must have knowledge of regional regulations & industry guidance/standards relating to structural design
  • Should be a good communicator, skilful negotiator and have excellent planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Track record of continuous improvement
