Job Purpose

The Vessel Operations Engineer is responsible for contributing to safe and timely delivery of vessel and related equipment mobilization and operations on projects.

Job Description

Main Accountabilities

  • Key focal point of all Vessel Operations
  • OneFleet interface for upcoming project readiness (global business units)
  • Coordinate OneFleet Internal Departments: Asset Operations, Marine Operations, Vessel Assurance, Quality and HSE, One Flexi, OneROV, VDTs, Offshore People
  • Engaging technical review of Project and Tender Technical documentation
  • Engagement in Construability Reviews and Project Risk Assessments (HIRA / HAZID etc)
  • Scheduling of Vessel activities and incorporation of activities into Project and corporates schedules
  • Incorporation of Project Lessons Learned
  • Development and regular review of Standard Operations Procedures
  • CAPEX Improvement initiatives: Identification and collation of Proposals for implementation
  • Vessel visits to support quayside and offshore work scopes globally
  • Provide Support to Senior and Lead Operations Engineer(s)
  • Facilitation of action trackers and weekly meetings with Vessel OMT / Vessel Owners / Project
  • Logistical provision planning for Food Stores, Bunkers, Berthing, etc (ie, non-project activities)
  • Knowledge and awareness of Vessel Chart Parties and/or internal contracting principles (MOS-COM-001) including key contractual risks and exposures.
  • Participation in Risk Review sessions
  • Contribution to Finance and cost control elements of Vessel management
