Job Purpose

The HR Business Partner will play a key role in delivering operational People and Culture (P&C) support to our Altens and Westhill sites. As the P&C function continues to evolve, this position offers a unique opportunity to help embed culture and develop our people.

This is a broad generalist role working with and influencing all levels of the workforce, whilst working strategically in close partnership with managers and business leaders.  

This role would suit an enthusiastic, resilient and person-centered individual. 

Job Description

  • Business partnering: partner with managers and business leaders to enable a people-first culture, aligned with delivering against local business and departmental objectives.  Able to manage numerous stakeholders and deliverables at same time.  Able to development in-depth understanding of business unit, as well as wider company direction, and its people strategy.
  • Generalist support: utilise a varied HR skillset to improve and deliver on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, prioritising key risk areas and activities as appropriate.  Be able to lead on projects as required.
  • Employee relations: whilst undertaking case management activity, support and coach managers through a range of topics, ensuring best-practice and compliance, taking the opportunity to build management capability in these processes.  Able to manage several cases at once with varying levels of complexity.  Ensure compliance to our code of conduct and ethics whilst undertaking case work.
  • Organisational design: lead, with managers and leaders, on developing organisational design which is aligned to the business requirements and meets current and future needs.
  • Talent management: work with managers and leaders to identify our talent and support managers with development activities and sucession planning of our people to ensure sustainability for the short, medium and long term. 
  • People Development: know our people and support their development targets.  Promote the development of managers and business leaders through coaching and fostering a culture of development within teams.
  • Employee engagement: identify employee engagement initiavies, aligned to employee feedback & improving our culture.  Development our employee engagement activities.
  • Cross-functional connectivity: build strong relatioships across our Altens and Westhill sites with stakeholders, the wider UK & Global P&C team, and other functional areas.
  • Problem-solving: adopt a problem-solving mindset and lead problem-solving activities.  Consider, at all times, importance of data in decision-making and take time to analyze available data when considering how best to solve problems.
  • Employee wellbeing: operate in a people-centric way, supporting the mental and physical wellbeing of our employees.  Foster inclusive and diverse culture and coach others across the workforce to do the same.

You are meant for this job if:

  • Excellent UK employment law knowledge.
  • Formal HR education such as CIPD, HNC, Diploma, Degree etc.
  • For this role, previous experience of a similar level of position would be needed.
  • Ability to partner, engage with and influence managers and business leaders to deliver against business requirements and targets.
  • Excellent UK employment law knowledge with broad employee relations skillset
  • Generalist knowledge of the employee lifecycle
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders to build strong working relationships
  • Ability to challenge in the right way
  • Good reporting and data-analysis skills
