Job Purpose

The mission of the Senior Welding Engineer is to support the Project and Tenders, under the Core Technologies Group in the technical related matters of Metallurgy, Welding& NDT of Linepipe, Structures, Forgings and Pipeline fabrication, ensuring the selection of cost-effective solutions in full compliance with the related international standards, CLIENT requirements and TechnipFMC guidance and procedures.

Job Description

  • Maintain awareness on the main international standards and GROUP’s guidance and procedures and ensure the proposed solutions are in full compliance with them.
  • Create and maintain the link between Core Technologies and other departments inside the TechnipFMC, seek for advice and input whenever required and/or during challenging proposals/projects.
  • Mentoring and development of Jr Engineers in the scope of Welding & NDT activities.
  • Generate ideas and templates to improve team efficiency and interfaces.
  • Review peers work whenever required.
  • Identify risks and opportunities for the proposed solutions.
  • Consolidate local experience in the discipline (project reports, R&D proposals,);
  • Promote TechnipFMC’s engineering excellence through publications (whenever possible or required) and industry locally.
  • Exchange experiences and lessons learnt through the team locally and globally (whenever needed/required);
  • Build network through the industry and remain conversant about the latest developments.
  • Remain conversant about the latest standards and CLIENT specifications updates.
  • Prepare and issue the Project specific documentation to CLIENT and review them whenever required;
  • Coordinate SUPPLIER during PQT;
  • Provide onsite fabrication support during PQT (factory and field), coordinating SUPPLIER and managing the CLIENT/SUPPLIER interface.
  • Issue NCR and follow up till closure.
  • Support/Coordinate project QA/QC team during manufacturing and production tests.
  • Review TPFMC GROUP guidance and procedures.

You are meant for this job if:

Area of Education: Welding / Metallurgy / Mechanical / Materials Engineer.

Certification: Welding Engineer

Experience on submerged pipeline projects including reel lay projects

 

Good understanding of subsea engineering

 

Deep knowledge and participated of different pipelines and subsea projects including welding techniques, WPQT (V and J bevel mechanized equipment, p-GMAW, p-GTAW, g-FCAW, WOL, etc), DNV-ST-F101 requirements including selection and application technology

 

Previous experience as the technical responsible / focal point for discipline for complex / big projects with different operators
