Dive Technician Onshore

Job Purpose
Responsible for carrying out inspection, maintenance, repair and test of a wide range of diving equipment provided by the Mobile Equipment department including, diving helmets, diver umbilical’s, dive suits, regulators and survival packs through to major items of diving plant such as dive controls, dive management systems and deck decompression chambers. To carry out all activity in accordance with current procedures and work instructions.
Job Description
Assemble, test, and certify new systems when required in accordance with relevant procedures and standards
• Conduct maintenance and inspection of equipment for mobilisation
• Conduct fault finding where appropriate in accordance with relevant industry standards
• Review and propose amendments to equipment design/modification and maintenance /repair procedures
• Carry out the work according to the job cards provided following the requirements of current procedures, industry standards, codes of practice and relevant legislation
• Record all extra service/repair work for the equipment in the job card
• Contact suppliers and vendors of mechanical, hydraulic, or other relevant equipment as necessary to obtain cost/details of spares or replacement parts, then pass on to the purchasing department
• Complete and sign job cards before returning to the mobile equipment materials and inventory coordinator
• To assist and advise other personnel on matters relating to diving systems and life support equipment design, fabrication, operation, maintenance and testing
• To maintain a good working knowledge of current procedures, industry standards, codes of practice and relevant legislation, including IMCA guideline
Provide certification details to the certification and administration department for input to the asset management system (AMS)
• Comply with OneFleet Business Management System (BMS)
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the work environment by means of good housekeeping
• Stop and report any unsafe acts, work processes or activities immediately and/or shut down dangerous equipment which are not producing the standard of work required to maintain fitness for purpose
• Undertake any other duties as requested by the workshop manager
You are meant for this job if:
Standard secondary school education
Time served apprenticeship
Ability to be self-motivated and work as part of a team
Understanding of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirement associated with the equipment
Full, clean and current UK driving licence
Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behaviour
Maintain behaviour in compliance with QHSE requirements
Report any unsafe act for environmentally unsound acts and conditions to their immediate supervisor such that remedial action can be taken to manage the risk
Willingness to travel to other TFMC worksites/locations/vessels
